A new found confusion

So for years  the idea of strategic military strikes in response to outrageous actions of questionable leaders has been the norm. Bush  did it. Clinton  did it. Reagan did it.

Suddenly our liberal press has a hard time understanding the point, now that Donald Trump is calling the shots.

She has been working very hard to derail the Trump Economic Growth Train, Two Tax Hikes since his election, she announced that the 4.5 Trillion in Debt created by Obama with the US Treasury will be dumped on the US Markets, that all to slow things down sharply.

She is yet another Obama hold over grenade thrower. She will raise rates a minimum of two time this year, bet on it. Making four rate hikes since President Trump was elected.

It wasn't a strategic military strike CH. Assad was using the base within 24 hours, the same aircraft that were moved out just before the missile attack. It had no strategic value.

I disagree. The reason the aircraft were moved out was that the US gave the Russians a heads up that we were coming and to get their people to safety. Naturally they told their Syrian clients.

That was to be expected.

The airstrike did two things.

1. Informed the Russians that the US will no longer tolerate war crimes by their puppet.

2. By eliminating Russian casualties, it gave room for the diplomatic maneuvering necessary to remove Assad from power.

From forbes

Whether you liked President Obama or not, the policies of the last six years allowed America to escape the Great Recession. Today 78.5% of all working age people are in the workforce - that is the highest labor participation rate of working age people since 2008 - indicating a complete recovery from the job collapse.

Good job obama, something KD refuses to accept due to his stupidity.

or President Trump to claim there are 100 million people in the USA looking for work is an impossibility. There are only 325 million people in America, and 26.4% of those are between under the age of 17 and over 65 - so 86 million. That only leaves 239 million people of working age in the country. We know that of those at least 78.5% are employed - which is 188 million. Thus, at its maximum, there are only 51 million people who could be looking for work. But we know that many are not because of ill-health, or simply choice. According to the Labor Department, there are about 5 million people looking for work in the U.S. at this time, which is just about the same number of job openings.

The consensus is that, Obama's policies actually hampered and prolonged the recovery.

MOSTLY FALSE
WHAT'S TRUE
Accounting errors found by HUD's Office of the Inspector General in 2015 and 2016 financial statements totaled more than $500 billion.

WHAT'S FALSE
The audit was initiated before Ben Carson assumed his position at HUD, and it reckons an aggregate figure of accounting errors and not an actual recovery of $500 billion in funds.

On 6 April 2017, the Daily Wire posted a story reporting that retired neurosurgeon and current U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) director Ben Carson found $520 billion in accounting errors after “ordering” an audit of the agency:

Ben Carson was the first neurosurgeon to successfully separate conjoined twins, so, he’s kind of a super hero.

But apparently, he’s also not a bad accountant.

President Trump picked Carson to head the Department of Housing and Urban Development, whose budget grew by leaps and bounds under Barack Obama.

In one of his first acts as HUD Secretary, Carson ordered an audit of the agency. What he found was staggering: $520 billion in bookkeeping errors.
The referenced audit was actually initiated by HUD’s Office of the Inspector General (OIG), who originally issued an independent auditor’s report on 15 November 2016 (over two months before Dr. Carson was confirmed as the new HUD secretary), along with a disclaimer noting that many discrepancies and information gaps existed within HUD’s financial statements and notes. That report was subsequently replaced with a “reissued” version dated 1 March 2017.

Me, you new favorite website Forbes, and a whole bunch of objective facts.

Economically, Could Obama Be America's Worst President?

The recession ended four years ago, according to the National Bureau of Economic Research. So Obamanomics has had plenty of time to produce a solid recovery. In fact, since the American historical record is the worse the recession, the stronger the recovery, Obama should have had an easy time producing a booming recovery by now.

Obama likes to tout that we are doing better now than at the worst of the recession. But every recovery is better than the recession, by definition. So that doesn’t mean much.

The right measure and comparison for Obama’s record is not to compare the recovery to the recession, but to compare Obama’s recovery with other recoveries from other recessions since the Great Depression. By that measure, what is clear is that Obamanomics has produced the worst recovery from a recession since the Great Depression, worse than what every other President who has faced a recession has achieved since the Great Depression.

Better start googling.

San Bernardino School Shooting: Two Dead, Two Wounded in ‘Murder-Suicide’ in Classroom

by Andrew Blankstein and Corky Siemaszko

Two adults, including a teacher, were killed and two students were wounded inside a San Bernardino, California, classroom Monday in what authorities were calling a murder-suicide shooting.

Authorities believe the children were near the female teacher at North Park Elementary School when the gunman entered the classroom and opened fire, Police Capt. Ron Maass said at a news conference.

Police do not believe the kids were targeted, Maass said.

"There was no indication the gun was visible upon his arrival at the school," Maass told reporters, referring to the gunman.

Update: One of the children, eight years old has died.

Not sure what the strategy it is this pursues. Trump didn't like what he saw on Fox so he ordered an air strike, but tipped off the Russians, who tipped off the Syrians, and then didn't even put the airfield out of service. Caused the Russians to terminate an agreement that allowed each nation and its allies to fly air missions over Syria without shooting at each other. Unlikely to help the fight against the Islamic State, which supposedly is one of Trump's priorities.

The mission wasn't to start a war with Russia, or kill a bunch of Russians or Syrians.

CH we have vastly different definitions of strategic military strike. What you described, I'd call a diplomatic objective not a military one.

When you don't even hinder the enemy in his plans, you either had no strategic objective or you have failed to achieve one.
