The media lies!

So the bottom line here folks is that not only is Donald Trump not disappointing the Republican base, he doesn't really seem to be disappointing the American Public as a whole. He was never anything more than a fairly unpopular candidate who turned out his base very heavily, while using persuasive tactics to undercut his opponent's credibility. Only one in five Americans seem to believe he is not living up to expectations, which is a manner in which to say there wasn't much for expectations when he took office.

Yet, the media keeps insisting that not only is the public as a whole losing faith in the President, there has been article upon article suggesting that the President's base is turning on him. As it stands, 91% of Republicans and 95% of conservative Republicans believe he is either doing about as well or better than expected. Seven percent does not make a revolution.

In fact, less than a third of Democrats believe he is doing worse than expected.

The truth is that his approvals (even while running for President) were always underwater. In fact, his generic favorables were in the thirties for most of the election. If anything they have improved since he has become President. Likely they will continue to improve if he continues to make strong decisions internationally and if the economy keeps on track.

Once again, the media is flat out lying to you. They so desperately want to create this false illusion of discontent, that they are willing to simply produce it all from thin air. Of course, it's easy... when they know there are suckers out there willing to believe whatever garbage they peddle.

Really???? Isn't it odd the Gallup comes up with a bunch of new surveys that kinda say the opposite of your screed, CH. Seems to me the media is reading what the public is thinking, in spite of your bias. Enjoy the read and nice try. LOL

Americans are losing confidence in President Donald Trump 's ability to keep his promises, according to a newly released poll.

Only 45 percent of people think Trump keeps his promises, down from 62 percent in February, according to a Gallup survey, which polled people from April 5 to 9. The change comes after Republicans failed to pass a plan to replace the Affordable Care Act and appear to face difficulties clearing tax reform and infrastructure proposals, among other hurdles to the sweeping agenda Trump promised during his campaign.

Trump already faces a lower approval rating at 41 percent than most recent presidents have at this point in their first terms, according to Gallup. Still, Americans' views of presidents can fluctuate, and Trump already won the 2016 election when most Americans viewed him unfavorably.

Only 40 percent of women think Trump keeps promises, down from 65 percent in February. The change was less stark in men, as the total fell to 51 percent from 59 percent.

Democrats, independents and Republicans were all less likely to think Trump keeps his promises, though the dropoff was larger among those who identified as Democrats or liberals.

In the same poll, the percentage of Americans who say Trump "is a strong and decisive leader" also dropped to 52 percent from 59 percent. People were less likely to answer that the president "can bring about the changes this country needs" and that he is "honest and trustworthy."

Opie - Trump's polling "peaked" at 46% in the Gallup polling. That was one day at 46% and a grand whopping total of two more at 45%. So this morning it's at 41% (which has been about average since he became President).

There is nothing in the Gallup polling that suggests any significant decline in support, especially nothing that suggests that his base has been abandoning him.

It suggests, simply what I wrote... that Trump has always been a less than favorable Presidential Candidate and President. Doesn't mean that this effects Congressional elections or his chances at reelection anymore than his low favorability ratings effected 2016.

There is nothing in the Gallup polling that suggests any significant decline in support,

I guess you ignored the fact that his number has plummeted about his promised actions by 17 points. My opinion is that is an indicator of future approval rates as his popularity plummets. I also note that ignoring the other polls and just talking about gallup's of 41% indicate a falling popularity inspite of you BS saying it is not. Oh well a 5% drop is an overall decrease of 11% in popularity, which is not trivial, except for you. Rationalizing he's always been unpopular is like saying the sky is blue. WOW, what insight... As for the next election cycle, who knows, he has plenty of opportunity to make a bigger fool of himself than he already has

Accurate Reporting on the actions of Donald Trump is the truth.

I wasn't surprised to see a post like this. This has been the Republican mantra since I was in high school and probably before. I know you won't see past the cloud that surrounds you, but your comment "Of course, it's easy... when they know there are suckers out there willing to believe whatever garbage they peddle. "

This applies to Trump supporters who accept every single time he changes his "truth" I don't want to bore you with a list that could take about five minutes. You have chewed and swallowed every thing Trump does. Taking the Republican party approval of Trump who are getting more nervous every passing day. If you provided a non partisan data, you would have seen that even the Republicans are getting more nervous about their choice from November

Another real question should be "why does Trump admire dictators" He did that again with his congratulations to the "election" of Ordogam in Turkey. If you would put on your cold blooded hat, and noted that just a few months ago, he put down a popular and military, attempt to over throw the dictatorship. As soon as he suppressed them, he took away all of the free press rights and imprisoned hundreds of journalists.

It's becoming very and unfortunately supportive of suppression of the press. I have no doubt can see you would find a way to sound rational, and support suppression of the free press, if Donald Trump would through executive orders, repress the "fake news" outlets and required them to get government approval of any story about his administration, or congressional actions by Republicans.

Further proof is the fact that although he has decided the Russians were not our friends, but he has never, one time, said anything negative about Vladimir Putin. He met with the President of China, and changed his tune about the manipulation of the Chinese currency And the list could go on forever, because Donald Trump does not truly believe in our constitutional democracy. He has not been able to pass a single major law,, such as repeal and replace Obamacare, his primary policy in the campaign, despite the Republicans control both houses of congress. You apparently think that criticizing the Trump administration is unfair and biased. aka "fake News".

In the 88 or so days since he took office, not once, no, NOT ONCE criticized the President. Indy has noted that more than once and you ignored it although you generally give him some respect. I'm not going to apply a silly label to this behavior is irrational. I have been watching the coverage of North Korea. They get thousands of people to march in step, cheer on clue and form huge color formations of people in support of a crazy , irrational leader. This has always troubled me, and what I'm seeing here, Trump can do no wrong, any criticism of his behavior are lies. Don't waist your time, in an attempt to find out where I found this. Sorry but I have just sat here, typing and letting the images and unbelievable support of Donald J. Trump, no matter what he does. This type of "thinking" is how dictatorships are formed and supported by intelligent people

Your perfect President did not even know what the USS Carl Vinson was doing. He stated in a Fox News "Not Fake" that they were an "armada" including submarines as a show of force to the North Korean government.

Later in the day, his Secretary of Defense said that this was just a standard movement, not anything special Don't believe me? Look it the hell up. But it's on the "Fake News" so you wont believe it any way.

Aircraft Carrier Wasn’t Sailing to Deter North Korea, as U.S. Suggested

WASHINGTON — Just over a week ago, the White House declared that ordering an American aircraft carrier into the Sea of Japan would send a powerful deterrent signal to North Korea and give President Trump more options in responding to the North’s provocative behavior. “We’re sending an armada,” Mr. Trump said to Fox News last Tuesday afternoon.

The problem was that the carrier, the Carl Vinson, and the three other warships in its strike force were that very moment sailing in the opposite direction, to take part in joint exercises with the Australian Navy in the Indian Ocean, 3,500 miles southwest of the Korean Peninsula.

White House officials said Tuesday that they had been relying on guidance from the Defense Department. Officials there described a glitch-ridden sequence of events, from an ill-timed announcement of the deployment by the military’s Pacific Command to a partially erroneous explanation by the defense secretary, Jim Mattis — all of which perpetuated the false narrative that a flotilla was racing toward the waters off North Korea.

By the time the White House was asked about the Carl Vinson, its imminent arrival had been emblazoned on front pages across East Asia, fanning fears that Mr. Trump was considering a pre-emptive military strike. It was portrayed as further evidence of the president’s muscular style days after he ordered a missile strike on Syria that came while he and President Xi Jinping of China chatted over dessert during a meeting in Florida.

Whether gunboat diplomacy (threatening North Korea with a US Navy carrier group) was a good idea is a separate issue. But publicizing this...

With Mr. Trump himself playing up the show of force, Pentagon officials said, rolling back the story became difficult.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

The story of the wayward carrier might never have come to light had the Navy not posted a photo online Monday of the Carl Vinson sailing south through the Sunda Strait, which separates the Indonesian islands of Java and Sumatra. It was taken on Saturday, four days after the White House press secretary, Sean Spicer, described its mission in the Sea of Japan.

Now, the Carl Vinson is finally on a course for the Korean Peninsula, expected to arrive in the region next week, according to Defense Department officials. White House officials declined to comment on the confusion, referring questions to the Pentagon. “Sean discussed it once when asked, and it was all about process,” a spokesman, Michael Short, said of Mr. Spicer.

Privately, however, other officials expressed bewilderment that the Pentagon did not correct its timeline, particularly given the tensions in the region and the fact that Mr. Spicer, as well as the national security adviser, Lt. Gen. H. R. McMaster, were publicly answering questions about it.

“The ship is now moving north to the Western Pacific,” the Pentagon’s chief spokeswoman, Dana White, said Tuesday. “This should have been communicated more clearly at the time.”

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

he miscues began on April 9 when the public affairs office of the Navy’s Third Fleet issued a news release saying that Adm. Harry B. Harris Jr., the Pacific commander, had ordered the Carl Vinson, a Nimitz-class nuclear-powered carrier, and its strike force — two destroyers and one cruiser — to leave Singapore and sail to the Western Pacific. As is customary, the Navy did not say exactly where the carrier force was headed or its precise mission.

Given the timing, it hardly needed to: Mr. Trump had just wrapped up a two-day summit meeting with Mr. Xi at his Palm Beach club, Mar-a-Lago, with a message that the United States had run out of patience with North Korea’s dictator, Kim Jong-un, and its nuclear and missile programs.

That Sunday, General McMaster told Fox News that the deployment was a “prudent” move, designed to give the president “a full range of options to remove” the threat posed by Mr. Kim.

What the Navy did not say was that the Carl Vinson had to carry out another mission before it set sail north: a long-scheduled joint exercise with the Australian Navy in the Indian Ocean.

South Korean and Japanese news media, as well as The New York Times, reported Admiral Harris’s order as evidence that the crisis was intensifying. While an aircraft carrier is not the weapon of choice for a strike on North Korea — such an operation would more likely involve long-range bombers and cruise missiles — it sends a vivid message of military might.

In July 2010, President Barack Obama ordered the aircraft carrier George Washington to the Sea of Japan to intimidate the North after it had torpedoed a South Korean Navy corvette, killing 46 sailors. When his defense secretary, Robert M. Gates, asked him to reroute the carrier to the Yellow Sea, to send an additional message to Beijing, Mr. Obama resisted.

“I don’t call audibles with aircraft carriers,” he said, using a football metaphor to reject the midcourse correction.

By all accounts, Mr. Trump is less worried than Mr. Obama about making such calls on the fly. His aides have praised this unpredictability as a virtue in dealing with rogue leaders in North Korea and Syria.

The USS Ronald Reagan is actually BASED in Japan and more than likely is and has been patroling the Korean waters all along. Putting the focus on the USS Carl Vinson diverting to the area is all part of good military deception. Keeps the press and the enemy guessing...not giving away every move ahead of time.
