The "naked drummer" strategy...

There is a film starting Rainn Wilson and Christina Applegate about a rock and roll drummer who was kicked out of a band just as they got their big break. Rainn Wilson's former band goes on to super-stardom while he wallows in dead end jobs, constantly reminded of what could have been, and basically sucking on it.

"The Rocker"

He comes out of retirement to play the prom with his nephew's band. Long story short, they end up practicing on some sort of "skype" or "face time" - with Rain Wilson playing "in the nude". The video feed gets stolen by one of the bands siblings, who tosses it out on YouTube and the phenomenon of the "naked drummer" goes viral.

An agent comes knocking, explaining to them that while the viral nature of the naked drummer attracted millions of viewers, in the background the catchy songs they are playing in the video have snuck their way through. Turns out people liked the music. They end up signing a record deal, playing a tour, and there is a climatic scene when the naked drummer meets up again with his former band.

The moral of the story? If the drummer had been fully clothed, the video never gets on YouTube, the video never goes viral, and the band never gets signed. Sometimes you need to shock your way to relevance.

This seems to be a variation of what Donald Trump is doing with his twitter feed. More likely than not, one hundred percent by design.

Let's face it... if Trump just tweeted about the last piece of obscure legislation he signed, where he was speaking this Thursday, or how he still wants to make "America great again"... it's unlikely that many people would be paying attention. He needs the "hook" to bring them in.

So how many people do you suppose go to Donald Trump's twitter feed now as a daily check, or maybe even multiple times a day, waiting for the next shocking tweet calling someone an unseemly name, or tweeting about someone bleeding from the face? But while looking through the feed for the next attack on CNN or Morning Joe, they end up reading the other mundane tweets that they otherwise would not have bothered to look at. They read about what legislation he just signed, and where he will be speaking on Thursday. Things they otherwise never would have heard about.

Yeah... he's crazy alright.

___________
I, GENTLE JAMES, SAY: And how many people just wait for the next ridiculous thing he will tweet A man in my church yesterday, whose politics I do not know, said he wished Trump would just shut up rather than lower himself by responding to every little snub.

He's the most thin skinned President we have ever had. So much so that it raises serious questions as to his mental balance.

Trump as the naked drummer. Please, don't give him ideas ... the naked statue was bad enough without Trump getting into the act ...

Donald Trump has tweeted an offer of help to terminally-ill baby Charlie Gard.

The 10-month-old is currently in hospital in London. A court decision last week ruled that his life support should be turned off.

The President tweeted: ‘If we can help little #CharlieGard, as per our friends in the U.K. and the Pope, we would be delighted to do so.’

Willing to help foreign poor while advocating massive cuts to medicaid and huge tax breaks for his rich friends. Wonder how much menstra boy will get back for his vote?????? Nothing you say, shocking. Idiots
