Afterward, the FBI wanted him to return but he decided to remain in North Carolina with his many loving relatives.

The truthers here have a real problem. They despise those people who have a different opinion on their President. If they had their way CH would delete every comment that is negative about Trump.
They wouldn't have a problem if anyone who won't support the President is thrown into a concentration camp and either starved to death or executed.
They would be no different than the Germans who stood with Hitler.
We can never truly repay the debt we owe our fallen heroes. But we can remember them, honor their sacrifice, and affirm in our own lives those enduring ideals of justice, equality, and opportunity for which generations of Americans have given that last full measure of devotion. --Barack Obama, in a tweet this memorial day
Happy Memorial Day! Those who died for our great country would be very happy and proud at how well our country is doing today. Best economy in decades, lowest unemployment numbers for Blacks and Hispanics EVER (& women in 18years), rebuilding our Military and so much more. Nice! --Donald J. Trump in a tweet this Memorial Day
Obama also used a picture of himself when tweeting about the passing/remembrance of John Glenn, Mohamed Ali, Stephen Hawking, Rosa Parks, Arnold Palmer, Nelson Mandela, Elie Wiesel,Neil Armstrong, President Kennedy and even 9/11 and Pearl Harbor.

Trump slammed for boasting about presidency in Memorial Day tweet
New York Daily News ANDREW KESHNER May 28th 2018 3:50PM
President Trump is catching flack for honoring soldiers’ supreme sacrifice on Memorial Day with gleeful boasts.
Hours ahead of Trump’s visit to the hallowed Arlington National Cemetery on Monday, he fired off a real dud of a tweet — insisting those who gave their lives for their country would be thrilled with his presidency.
“Happy Memorial Day! Those who died for our great country would be very happy and proud at how well our country is doing today,” Trump tweeted.
Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump Happy Memorial Day! Those who died for our great country would be very happy and proud at how well our country is doing today. Best economy in decades, lowest unemployment numbers for Blacks and Hispanics EVER (& women in 18years), rebuilding our Military and so much more. Nice! 7:58 AM - May 28, 2018
He added it was the “Best economy in decades, lowest unemployment numbers for Blacks and Hispanics EVER (& women in 18years), rebuilding our Military and so much more. Nice!”
Michael Hayden, a retired general and onetime CIA and NSA head, tweeted “OMG” in reply.
At a Memorial Day parade in Little Neck, Queens, Gov. Cuomo said he “didn't see the tweet, but today is not about the politicians certainly. It's in memory and out of respect and gratitude for all those that served this nation, many of which gave their lives. That's what today is all about.”
VoteVets, a left-leaning group aiming to support veterans’ public office bids, called Trump’s remembrances “the most inappropriate #MemorialDay comment that a @POTUS has ever made. Self-promotion on a day to remember the fallen, and wishing those remembering their deceased loved ones a ‘happy’ holiday is appalling. #CadetBoneSpurs”
The hashtag needles Trump for one of his five Vietnam War deferments, one being for bone spurs.
Conservative pundit Bill Kristol urged followers to forget Trump’s tweet. “There are so many appropriate expressions of respect and appreciation on this Memorial Day that deserve your attention, and that reflect well on the country,” he said.
Others noted how a pro did it.
They linked to ex-president Barack Obama’s tweet for the day, which started, “We can never truly repay the debt we owe our fallen heroes.”
Meanwhile, First Lady Melania Trump tweeted her thanks to “all the service members & their families who sacrifice so much to keep us safe.”
Later in the day, Trump laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unkown Soldier and put some more presidential gravitas in his remarks on the nation’s fallen soldiers.
“Today, we pay tribute to their service, we mourn alongside their families and we strive to be worthy of their sacrifice,” he said.
The audience included former U.S. Sen. Bob Dole and Ray Chavez, the oldest living Pearl Harbor survivor.
Trump’s campaign site, meanwhile, tried to cash in on the holiday — offering 25%-off deals for shoppers.
Some of the displayed merchandise included Trump-Pence pool towels and beer koozies.
To be perfectly honest it is AMAZING that Trump has not figured out by now that he should have his tweets vetted before he sends them out. OMG was an appropriate response. Some advisor would surely have said, For God's sake, Mr. President don't send THAT ocout.
This narcissistic President lacks in simple, common, decent humanity and fellow feeling.
"President Trump made a point of remaining after his address to shake hands with each newly commissioned Navy ensign or Marine Corps second lieutenant as they were summoned to the stage. He hugged the last graduate, elicitng a laugh from the crowd of 30,000."
IF, the lost years prez did it, I don't recall. Liberals, did he?
The Obama era is over. Here's how the military rates his legacy By: George R. Altman and Leo Shane III January 8, 2017"
More than half of troops surveyed in the latest Military Times/Institute for Veterans and Military Families poll said they have an unfavorable opinion of Obama and his two-terms leading the military. About 36 percent said they approve of his job as commander in chief. "
This Veteran really appreciated this so did the Cadets. we have become a lot stronger lately. A lot,” the president told the 783 men and 259 women graduates on a warm, cloudless day at a packed Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. “We are not going to apologize for America. We are going to stand up for America. No more apologies.”
Assuming that you have maintained the ability to be astonished by Donald Trump’s antics and insolence, The Washington Post reported last week that in 2017, before Trump was to deliver a speech to Congress, he “huddled with senior adviser Jared Kushner and [Stephen] Miller in the Oval Office to talk immigration.” As The Post reported: “Trump reminded them the crowds loved his rhetoric on immigrants along the campaign trail. Acting as if he were at a rally, he recited a few made-up Hispanic names and described potential crimes they could have committed, such as rape or murder. Then, he said, the crowds would roar when the criminals were thrown out of the country — as they did when he highlighted crimes by illegal immigrants at his rallies, according to a person present for the exchange and another briefed on it later. Miller and Kushner laughed.” That Trump is a racist and white supremacist is settled fact at this point. After Charlottesville, and the “shithole countries” comment and the use of MS-13 — “These aren’t people. These are animals” — as a coded cudgel against all immigrants, if you still don’t believe that Trump is a racist — and most people do — then you’re not paying attention, are willfully ignorant, or are probably a closet racist yourself. The racism has become almost routine. Now it is the continued revelations of the degree to which Trump takes the presidency as a giant game, in which he is all-powerful, in which supplicants must come pleading, in which he has an unmatched ability to retain power by manipulating and deceiving the populace. Its like he’s playing the role of the Wizard of Oz, only this man is a weasel. This isn’t even the first time that we’ve gotten a peek behind the curtain and have seen Trump’s hubris about his ability to tap into people’s anxieties — and hatreds — and his ability to bend reality to suit his designs. It is the same way that he used “build the wall” as a rallying cry to keep supporters engaged and enraged. It is the way he seized on the N.F.L. protest issue, and recast it to his supporters — mostly white — as a them-against-us battle of unpatriotic ingratitude by the players — mostly black. In a stunning acquiescence to Trump’s racial hostility, the N.F.L. last week ruled that its players on the field must stand for the national anthem or their teams could be fined. They can also remain in the locker room, out of view and protest there until the anthem is finished.
In other words, the players must make their pain more palatable by removing it from public consideration, to hide their light under a bush, to “eat in the kitchen when company comes,” as Langston Hughes wrote in his 1926 poem best known by its first line: “I, too, sing America.” But Trump wasn’t satisfied to simply accept the win. He sought to milk the manipulation even more, suggesting to Brian Kilmeade of “Fox & Friends” that protesting players may even need to be deported. As Trump put it: “You have to stand proudly for the national anthem or you shouldn’t be playing, you shouldn’t be there — maybe they shouldn’t be in the country.” Demonization of those who are different — in race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation or even conviction — is a common thread in Trump’s power play. He directs it at the media in a different way. Last week, “60 Minutes” correspondent Lesley Stahl recalled an exchange she had with Trump in 2016 in which she pressed him on why he repeatedly insults journalists. His response, according to Stahl, was: “You know why I do it? I do it to discredit you all and demean you all so when you write negative stories about me, no one will believe you.” For Trump, it’s all about manipulation, and he will lie, bully and demean to that end, even if his deceit is discovered. On Saturday, Trump falsely claimed on Twitter: “The Failing @nytimes quotes ‘a senior White House official,’ who doesn’t exist, as saying ‘even if the meeting were reinstated, holding it on June 12 would be impossible, given the lack of time and the amount of planning needed.’ WRONG AGAIN! Use real people, not phony sources.” Well, it turns out that the official not only exists, but audio surfaced of him giving the briefing in the White House itself. And while he never uses the word “impossible,” he describes a timeline that sounds impossible. Trump has not apologized for that lie or corrected it, and the tweet is still available on Twitter. This is the strategy: Never apologize. Just move on, create a new moment — one that rivals or even outshines the last — and change the subject. This way, you keep your detractors playing on your court and by your rules and you never play on theirs. In the film, the Wizard of Oz finally confesses: “I’m a humbug!” Trump never will.
Well then, the investigations must bed helping him. So why does he keep yelling, STOP! STOP! I'M INNOCENT! SO STOP. STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP SSTOP SSTOP SSSTOP SSSTOP SSSTOP SSSTOP SSSTOP SSSTOP SSSTOP?!!!

A Florida police officer is facing mounting backlash over a Facebook comment in which he seemingly wished violence upon Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg and other young gun control activists. The now-deleted post was in response to "die in" protests held Friday in the parking lot of giant supermarket chain Publix, which previously made large donations to the political campaigns of National Rifle Association supporters.
"Hope some old lady loses control of her car in that lot. Jus saying…..” Coconut Creek police officer Brian Valenti allegedly wrote on the Coral Springs/Parkland Facebook page, according to screenshots obtained by The Sun-Sentinel.
"Who's your daddy? is a slang expression that, in one use, takes the form of a rhetorical question. It is commonly used as a boastful claim of dominance over the intended listener."

Chelsea Clinton unleashed: Trump ‘degrades what it means to be American’
May 28th 2018 8:02PM
Chelsea Clinton waded into political waters, bashing President Trump and “what he’s doing to degrade what it means to be an American.”
In a wide-ranging interview with the U.K. paper the Guardian to promote her new children’s book, the former first daughter decried the Trump administration and its supporters who she said “have not only mainstreamed hate, but mainlined it, is so deeply dangerous.”
She cited the rise in hate crimes reported to the FBI and the Southern Poverty Law Center as evidence of the toxic effects of Trump’s political language. “Not just the hundreds, but now thousands of instances in schools across America, where children are citing the president as they’re demeaning a little girl, or they’re chanting ‘Build a wall’ in an attempt to demean and degrade brown children,” she said.
Clinton also slammed the administration’s hiring practices, noting that she had no intention of seeking a White House job if her mother, Hillary Clinton, has won the 2016 election.
“I think the president should be able to hire whoever he or she thinks are best qualified. I do not believe that many of the people that he has hired have been qualified to do the jobs,” she said.
“Not only do I want an administration that isn’t venal, corrupt and focused on making life harder for millions of Americans, I also want a competent administration,” she continued. “So for me, the larger question is the collision of cruelty and incompetence and corruption that we see across the administration.”
Clinton, who is currently serving as vice chair of the Clinton Foundation and raising two young children, said she has not spoken to Ivanka Trump, a friend and White House adviser in “a long time.” She then cast some shade on the first daughter.
“She’s an adult. She can make the choices for herself. I mean, she’s 36. We are responsible for our choices,” Clinton said. “In 2008 I was really proud to support my mum — but I disagreed with her fundamentally on a few things, particularly her then opposition to equal marriage rights for LGBTQ Americans. I never defended that position, because it wasn’t what I believed was the right thing to do.” ___________________

Why Democrats Are Still Favorites to Win the House
Josh Kraushaar: “But fundamentals matter—and so many of them are locked into the Democrats’ favor, big-time. It’s impossible to ignore the consistently supercharged Democratic turnout in election after election, from swing districts to those fought on conservative turf. Even if you look to the larger contests (like last year’s governor’s races) as a stronger indicator, the results are highly encouraging for the Democratic Party. If in our polarized times, Democrats simply win most GOP-held Clinton seats and pick off competitive open-seat races where Republicans retired, they’re well on their way to a narrow majority.
“To that end, the results of an August special election outside Columbus, Ohio (home to National Republican Congressional Committee chairman Steve Stivers) will be a crucial test of whether Republicans have made gains in recent weeks. On paper, the exurban district is a bit more competitive than the Pittsburgh-area seat Republicans lost in an embarrassing upset two months ago. But Republicans also nominated their strongest candidate as their standard-bearer—state senator Troy Balderson—giving them no excuses if they badly underperform again. Early polling suggests the race between Balderson and Democratic Franklin County Recorder Danny O’Connor will be highly competitive.” ________________
How Trump Uses Conspiracy Theories to Erode Trust
“As a candidate, Donald Trump claimed that the United States government had known in advance about the Sept. 11 attacks. He hinted that Antonin Scalia, a Supreme Court justice who died in his sleep two years ago, had been murdered. And for years, Mr. Trump pushed the notion that President Barack Obama had been born in Kenya rather than Honolulu, making him ineligible for the presidency,” the New York Times reports.
“None of that was true.”
“Last week, President Trump promoted new, unconfirmed accusations to suit his political narrative: that a ‘criminal deep state’ element within Mr. Obama’s government planted a spy deep inside his presidential campaign to help his rival, Hillary Clinton, win — a scheme he branded “Spygate.” It was the latest indication that a president who has for decades trafficked in conspiracy theories has brought them from the fringes of public discourse to the Oval Office.”
“Now that he is president, Mr. Trump’s baseless stories of secret plots by powerful interests appear to be having a distinct effect. Among critics, they have fanned fears that he is eroding public trust in institutions, undermining the idea of objective truth and sowing widespread suspicions about the government and news media that mirror his own.” _________________

All Roger and I did was put up appreciative summations
regarding true heroes who served our country honorably
in a time of great war.
.
My father did not even have to go. He had a secure job
with the FBI in Washington D.C., yet he volunteered for
military service. Afterward, the FBI wanted him to return
but he decided to remain in North Carolina with
his many loving relatives.
"No, you can thank your own despicable selves."
No.
Roger doesn't get to ride his uncle's coattails and accuse others of wanting to put people in camps.
NOT today.
Especially people who have served this country.
I haven't said one derogatory thing about your father's service to our country, I appreciate it.

Lynn Bernard Amick was born to Charles E. and Jennie B. (Williams) Amick on October 17, 1910, in his parents’ sod house west of Springview, NE. He had two brothers: Ivan R. Amick, who is now deceased, and Carroll E. Amick, who is now deceased.. He also had one sister, Rita E. (Amick) Stroschine, who lives in Winner, SD. In 1913, Lynn’s family moved 10 miles south of Colome, SD. Lynn went to Kansas Flats Country School for grades 1-8. During the drought and dust storms of the early 1930’s, Lynn decided to truck his horses and wagon to Hartley, Iowa. Here he was employed by farmers. He later became a mechanic in Ocheyedan, IA. He married Blanche E. Petersen, on January 24, 1939, in Spencer, Iowa. They had one child together, Lynne Dee (Amick) Havens, who was 3 years old at the time of her father’s death. His sister, Rita, remembers Lynn as a kind and loving person who cared very much for his wife and daughter and all of his family.
On November 11, 1943, Lynn was drafted into the Army, training at Camp Fannin in Texas. He was part of Company E, 409th Infantry. He was shipped overseas from New York, October 1, 1944, to somewhere in France. His last letter was written to his parents on November 15, the day before he died. He told of dealing with rain and snow, living in tents with candles for light, sleeping in clothes except boots and leggings, and drying socks for the next day.
On November 16, 1944, in Southern France, Army Private Lynn B. Amick was killed in battle. We do not know where Private Amick was originally buried, but we do know that his body was moved to the U.S. Military Cemetery in Epinal, France. Current survivors of his family are Lynne Dee Havens, daughter, Glenwood Springs, CO; Carroll E. Amick, brother; and Rita Stroschine, sister.
Jeanne Pochop and Gaye Hambek, nieces of Private Amick, traveled to Europe where they spent a month in September of 1995. At the time, Pvt. Amick’s great niece, Pam (Hambek) Anderson and her family were living in Germany where her husband was stationed. Private Amick’s family had always wanted to visit his final resting place. Although his immediate family was not able to fulfill this dream, 51 years later, his nieces had the opportunity to travel to his gravesite. They placed a red rose on his cross as requested by his sister, Rita. Later Hambek wrote a speech about Private Amick and their trip to Epinal, France, to see his place of burial. An excerpt from her speech reads:
As we parked, we looked out over the 5255 white marble crosses so exactly spaced on a carpet of green, that no matter which way you viewed they were standing at attention in a straight line. The grounds were immaculately groomed and maintained. We were all in absolute awe, and none of us were able to speak at first as we were overcome with emotion.
It’s hard to explain our feelings as we each looked upon this white marble cross bearing the name of our family’s dear loved one – now so long ago taken from us. I felt that I could almost see his face -- in a transparent kind of way -- and I felt that he was at peace in this beautiful setting surrounded by all the others -- so far away from home also. Our loss was so long ago, but we had successfully gapped those 50 some odd years, and were now able to return home having accomplished our number 1 goal. Such wonderful peace and tranquility reigns here – and we left knowing that our loved ones are exceptionally well cared for.
His friends, family, and his country respected Private Lynn Bernard Amick, and the men in his Company looked up to him. I also respect Private Lynn B. Amick for fighting for our country and the freedom of others.
May he rest in peace. He us condemning Trump from heaven.

But we can remember them, honor their sacrifice, and affirm
in our own lives those enduring ideals of justice, equality,
and opportunity for which generations of Americans have given
that last full measure of devotion.

Trump slammed for boasting about presidency in Memorial Day tweet

President Trump is catching flack for honoring soldiers’ supreme sacrifice on Memorial Day with gleeful boasts.
Hours ahead of Trump’s visit to the hallowed Arlington National Cemetery on Monday, he fired off a real dud of a tweet — insisting those who gave their lives for their country would be thrilled with his presidency.
“Happy Memorial Day! Those who died for our great country would be very happy and proud at how well our country is doing today,” Trump tweeted.

The coupon code was “Remember.”
Of course who can forget the present Obama gave to the Queen of England on his first visit there, an iPod with....

Liberals of CHT, honestly, is every single thing Trump does a Trigger?
It's not just liberals who are appalled.

The Weasel of Oz
By Charles M. Blow
Opinion Columnist
May 27, 2018
Assuming that you have maintained the ability to be astonished by Donald Trump’s antics and insolence, The Washington Post reported last week that in 2017, before Trump was to deliver a speech to Congress, he “huddled with senior adviser Jared Kushner and [Stephen] Miller in the Oval Office to talk immigration.” As The Post reported:
“Trump reminded them the crowds loved his rhetoric on immigrants along the campaign trail. Miller and Kushner laughed.”
That Trump is a racist and white supremacist is settled fact at this point.
In other words, the players must make their pain more palatable by removing it from public consideration, to hide their light under a bush, to “eat in the kitchen when company comes,” as Langston Hughes wrote in his 1926 poem best known by its first line: “I, too, sing America.”
But Trump wasn’t satisfied to simply accept the win. He sought to milk the manipulation even more, suggesting to Brian Kilmeade of “Fox & Friends” that protesting players may even need to be deported. As Trump put it: “You have to stand proudly for the national anthem or you shouldn’t be playing, you shouldn’t be there — maybe they shouldn’t be in the country.”
Demonization of those who are different — in race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation or even conviction — is a common thread in Trump’s power play. He directs it at the media in a different way.
Last week, “60 Minutes” correspondent Lesley Stahl recalled an exchange she had with Trump in 2016 in which she pressed him on why he repeatedly insults journalists. His response, according to Stahl, was: “You know why I do it? I do it to discredit you all and demean you all so when you write negative stories about me, no one will believe you.”
For Trump, it’s all about manipulation, and he will lie, bully and demean to that end, even if his deceit is discovered.
On Saturday, Trump falsely claimed on Twitter:
“The Failing @nytimes quotes ‘a senior White House official,’ who doesn’t exist, as saying ‘even if the meeting were reinstated, holding it on June 12 would be impossible, given the lack of time and the amount of planning needed.’ WRONG AGAIN! Use real people, not phony sources.”
Well, it turns out that the official not only exists, but audio surfaced of him giving the briefing in the White House itself.

I never defended that position, because it wasn’t what I believed was the right thing to do.”

Early polling suggests the race between Balderson and Democratic Franklin County Recorder Danny O’Connor will be highly competitive.”

Among critics, they have fanned fears that he is eroding public trust in institutions, undermining the idea of objective truth and sowing widespread suspicions about the government and news media that mirror his own.”
