Here is a little reality check for you

All FBI investigation are limited in scope.

Every single investigation brought forth by the FBI will be limited in scope to the relevant details of the potential federal crimes or counter-terrorism that are being investigated. This, ladies and gentlemen, is why the FBI is in hot water over dubious FICA warrrants, and other things involving their investigation into the Trump administration.

Every single person has constitutional rights against overbearing government dictation of their lives. Literally half of the Amendments in the Bill of Rights deal with protection from those who are accused, investigated, charged, or otherwise find themselves in the cross hairs of the Federal Government. The FBI cannot force people in for questioning, ask for documents, or otherwise hassle any American citizen without due cause, due process and in most cases a court ordered warrant that requires them to convince a judge that a FEDERAL crime was committed.

Judge Kavanaugh is not accused of any Federal Crimes that would fall under the umbrella of the FBI. Mark Judge is not accused of any Federal Crimes that would fall under the umbrella of the FBI. None of Kavanaugh's high school or college friends are being accused of any Federal Crimes. Without any Federal crimes for the FBI to investigate, they cannot "force" anyone to talk to them, nor can they demand anyone to turn over any documentation.

In the case of a background check, the FBI has run their normal background check on Judge Kavanaugh a total of six times. This supplemental background check is being requested by the Senate and ultimately ordered by the President. This supplemental background check would be limited (by constitutional protection) to what issues the Senate is requiring to make a decision.

In this case, the "only" events the FBI needs to look into are those who are requesting that information in order to make a better informed decision. When it comes to a background check, those who have already made up their minds, have no business asking for more information.  This is about what the handful of Senators need to know before "they" can make a decision on Brett Kavanaugh. If Collins, Flake, Manchin, Murkowski and others on the fence are looking for very specific information, then that is what the FBI probe would be focusing on.

Bottom Line: THERE IS NO PLACE IN OUR CONSTITUTION that allows for ANY LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY to simply run an open ended investigation into an individual that basically "looks for anything and everything" that might constitute a crime. Given that, then most certainly no Law Enforcement agency is allowed to go "dig up dirt" on someone (such as Judge Kavanaugh), simply because certain Politicians and News Organizations are desperate to find some.

I mean does anyone "really" believe that is what the FBI is supposed to do? Does anyone "really" believe that the FBI exists to investigate whether a comment in a high school yearbook from 35 years ago is a sexual innuendo or a fart joke? Does anyone really believe the FBI is supposed to investigate decades old questions about drinking habits, or try to determine whether or not someone may or may not have "blacked out" 35 years ago? Does anyone really believe that the FBI is supposed to investigate whether or not someone's friend made teen age claims of sexual conquests, much less try to determine the credibility of them?

Again... reality check.  There is no law enforcement agency in this country that investigates personal behavior from 35 years ago, much less the FBI. Why would anyone expect a supplemental background check into one thing (fact checking these decades old allegations of sexual assault) should by nature be allowed to "expand" into areas that the FBI has not authority (or interest) in considering?

Even if the FBI had an interest, they don't have authority.

And no... the President of the United States does not have the authority to tell he FBI to ignore their constitutional limitations. Does anyone NOT see the extreme and blatant danger of that?

The FBI investigation could be wrapped up as early as today.

well, liberals think that since this precedent (in their minds) was established with the carte blanche, endless mueller investigation, any of their political desires can be satisfied in this manner.

this is an unintended consequence of rosenpenis giving mueller a blank check and no time limit.

brilliant.

I was saying yesterday, given the lack of base information. I agree with the following.

What a spinning of malarkey. if the FBI comes across multiple claims by individuals or groups that Kavanaugh out and out lied to the Judiciary Committee while under oath -- that would not warrant further investigation?

Run that past a lawyer.

What if this leads to Hillary being a ISIS plant and Corker is doing Harris?

VOTE. Then help Ford with her mental health problems, prosecute Feinstein and Fords attorneys. Then run tests on RBG, she obviously is on her last breaths

just because some fake pastor and very real pederast might be inclined to make a few bogus claims doesn't mean the FBI is obligated to investigate it further.

look at the old whore that avenatti dug up. her claims disintegrated in just a few minutes.
