The President cut the feet right of of the vice President by refusing to make a deal. He was a master of negotiations according to his electoral rhetoric.

Sen. Rand Paul is leaving the U.S. for quality health care in Canada.

at a PRIVATE, not public hospital that specializes in hernia's.

nice try alky.

On Monday, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) was widely criticized for the announcement that he would have hernia surgery in Canada, a country with socialized medicine. Despite the hospital being private and specializing in hernias, critics cited Paul’s opposition to socialized medicine.

The surgery is related to an injury Paul suffered when his neighbor, Rene Boucher, attacked him while he was doing yard work, leaving him with six broken ribs and damage to his lungs, The Washington Times reports.

Boucher is reportedly being sued by Paul for $4,000 in medical expenses plus the costs of the hernia surgery. The Courier Journal reports the court documents cite the cost of the hernia procedure as ranging between $5,000 and $8,000. Boucher was sentenced to 30 days in prison for assaulting a member of Congress; federal prosecutors are reportedly appealing the case.

Paul’s lawsuit says that he will undergo an outpatient surgery in Canada later this month at Shouldice Hernia Hospital, which claims to be “the only licensed hospital in the world dedicated to repairing hernias.”

“This is a private, world renowned hospital separate from any system and people come from around the world to pay cash for their services,” Kelsey Cooper, a spokeswoman for Paul, told The Hill.

Paul’s chief strategist Doug Safford responded to the unwarranted outrage on Twitter.

“It is one of a handful of private hospitals grandfathered to exist outside their normal healthcare laws,” Safford added. “Try fact checking, it’s not hard.”

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 53% of Likely U.S. Voters think it is better for the United States to tightly control who comes into the country. Thirty-nine percent (39%) disagree and say it is better to open our borders to anyone who wants to come here as long as they are not a terrorist or a criminal.

Mayday for May, British House of Commons slated to vote today on prime minister Theresa May's plan for Brexit deal.

If it fails, Brexit will be done without an agreement with the EU on customs and borders.

It will also signal the end of May's government.

The vice President and Chuck and Nancy had negotiated an agreement to put, $1.62 billion into initiate the construction of the wall.

Pretty sure that Nancy Pelosi agreed to $1.62 for constructions of the wall, which is 62 cents more than the one dollar she has pledged is all she is willing to provide.

Mike Pence, just last week, was quoted as saying that Pelosi and the Democrats are refusing to negotiate on the subject.

Considering you didn't "cut and paste" anything to bolster this claim, can we assume that you are just making it up?

Perhaps this is what you are confused about.

Pence told reporters he met with the Democratic congressional leaders’ senior staffers throughout the weekend and was told simply that they would not have a negotiation if the government remained partially closed. The vice president emphasized that President Donald Trump would not agree at this time to reopen the border without a comprehensive deal to end the government shutdown.

The dispute between the White House and the Democrats centers on Trump’s demand for 5.7 billion dollars of border wall funding. Democratic lawmakers say they will offer the president no more than 1.6 billion dollars in funding, and stipulate that the funding continently cannot be used to fund a border wall.

So, Rog... is it just coincidence that Pense, 1.6 billion, are in both of those stories? You saying that Trump would not accept 1.6 billion for border wall construction... when in fact the 1.6 billion was an overall border security number and would not include any money for a border barrier?

Those who chuckled at this supposed irony missed a major detail, even though it was noted in the press coverage: Paul's surgery will take place at the Shouldice Hernia Hospital in Thornhill, Ontario. The clinic is private, and run for profit; The Toronto Star's Daniel Dale, who is from Thornhill, notes that it was "grandfathered in to Ontario's socialized health system."

According to Dale, New Democratic Party Leader Jack Layton, a left-leaning Canadian politician, attracted criticism in 2006 for visiting the private clinic, even though he was a champion of publicly provided health care. THAT is indeed hypocritical. Paul's decision to seek out the best care—and pay for it—is not.

rand paul is a doctor. i suspect he knows best where to get the finest care for himself specific to what ails him.

i would also suspect that if the canadian government managed to completely FUCK UP the private clinic in ontario, the docs that run the place would be happy to relocate here and we'd be glad to have them.

Democrats are looking to recreate a deal made earlier this year in an omnibus spending bill that President Trump signed, now saying they will budget $1.6 billion for border security measures that do not actually fund the building of a border wall.

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/01/11/us/politics/trump-border-crisis-reality.html

so the alky was quoting the old gray whore. and true to form they trotted out this misleading egm;

THE REALITY It is difficult to assess the president’s claims that illegal immigration leads to more crime because few law enforcement agencies release crime data that includes immigration status. However, several studies have found no link between immigration and crime, and some have found lower crime rates among immigrants.

"and some have found lower crime rates among immigrants."

that's nice. the debate centers around ILLEGAL immigrants. by intentionally refusing to make that distinction, you intentionally mislead your readers, making you purveyors of fake news, and an enemy of the people.

for chrissakes, the only thing that was missing from the article was a cameo appearance of that feckless lying cunt maggie haberman.

Denny...

Pelosi is offering one dollar.

I mocked Roger's 1.62 billion dollar claim by suggesting she raised her one dollar offer by 62 cents.

IOW... I jokingly stated she offered $1.62 (as in one dollar and sixty two cents). There was no "billion" in my comment.

If you actually read my entire comment, you would see that I explained to Roger that the 1.6 billion being offered was not for a wall, but for border security that would include a condition that it could not be used for a wall.

You are literally agreeing with me, reinforcing my facts, while simultaneously disagreeing with Roger. Go figure.

I would offer that if there was a 1.6 billion dollar offer on the table and that the President could do with it what he wanted, that we would be on pace to solve the shut down, possibly by the end of the week....

But the 1.6 billion (with stipulations that it cannot be used on a wall) is not going to get it done.

I mocked Roger's 1.62 billion dollar claim

Wow little Scotty....your idea of mocking is getting more juvenile by the day....the fact remains trump didn't like the 1.6 billion and schummer did the right thing by reducing it!!! IMO....Jowls holds the keys to the kingdom and his inaction is why we are shut....Let trump Veto something....than get 100 votes again to over ride the veto....But Jowls being the asshole he is will keep supporting the shut down and trump....seems the polls are showing voters think the wall is stupid, but he will not step on trumps toes...So sad how yellow are all R's....IMO, the country is in favor of the D's proposal.....Oh well, keep digging!!!

Coal

“You know what you can’t hurt? Coal. You can do whatever you want to coal. Very important. … We are back. The coal industry is back.” — President Trump at a 2018 rally in Charleston, W.V.

After running in 2016 on a promise to save the coal industry, Trump was, after being elected, quick to proclaim victory on that score. He signed legislation overturning environmental regulations put in place during the Obama administration that industry opposed. And he tweeted in celebration when a Pennsylvania mine opened for business.

But an analysis of coal-fired power plants in the U.S. found that the industry as a whole continues its downward trajectory. In fact, more coal-fired power plants have closed during the first two years of Trump’s presidency than in all of former President Barack Obama’s first term, Reuters reported Monday.

If special counsel Robert Mueller has taken on this investigation and can prove beyond reasonable doubt that Trump was indeed working for the Russians, Trump would have committed the kind of high crime that our founders had in mind when they adopted the impeachment clause of the Constitution. James Madison said that a president might "betray his trust to foreign powers" with an outcome "fatal to the republic." Alexander Hamilton sad that foreign powers could be our "most deadly adversaries" and could perhaps seek to "gain an improper ascendant in our councils."

So Rog:

- So were you lying when you said that the President rejected a compromise that would have given him $1.6 billion in wall funding?

- Did someone feed you fake news?

- Or were you just wrong, again?

the TDS is STRONG with this one -

If there is evidence of Trump selling out to the Russians, and Pence took any part in covering it up, then the vice president could also be found guilty of an impeachable crime or the concealment of a felony.
