There was no good reason for Cohen to testify today given his legal situation. He’s in even worse legal jeopardy tonight (FARA violations and more perjury) than he was this morning. Clinton fixer Lanny Davis should be ashamed for pushing Cohen to do this against his own interest.
I almost feel bad for Cohen, a guy who is clearly out of his depth. No scrupulous attorney who cares about his duty to his client would have ever allowed Cohen to testify today. Lanny Davis used Cohen as a pawn in Davis’s own political games, but only Cohen will pay the price.
