Bombshell after bombshell

Michael Cohen: I don’t have any recordings or proof of him saying anything racist.
Michael Cohen: I don't have any evidence of Russian Collusion. But I have suspicions.
Michael Cohen: He didn't actually ask me to lie. That's not his style.
Michael Cohen: I know he committed crimes, but cannot talk about it.
Michael Cohen: I heard a telephone conversation, but cannot prove that I did.
Michael Cohen: I heard Donald Jr whisper to Donald Sr. Not sure what he meant.

"I did the same thing that you're doing now for 10 years,” Cohen said. “I can only warn people — the more people that follow Mr. Trump, as I did blindly, are going to suffer the same consequences as I did.”

You're blinded by your pathetic love for the President who is the best liar and gangster in history.

That document is a check signed by Donald Trump Jr. for “services rendered,” that is likely proof of campaign finance violations and criminal conspiracy, and possibly many other charges. And the check signed by the President is nuclear.

Khanna: Today you testified that the check was signed by Donald Trump Jr. and the Trump organization CFO Allen Weisselberg, is that correct?

Cohen: That is correct.

Khanna: According to the criminal charges against you, you sent monthly invoices containing false information to an individual identified as “executive one.” Weisselberg is executive one, correct?

Cohen: Yes.

Khanna: The criminal charge against you then states that executive one forwarded your invoice to someone referred to as “executive two”, presumably Donald Trump jr., who is signing this check as executive two. Correct?

Cohen: I believe so.

Khanna: As federal prosecutors laid out in their criminal charges, payments like this check resulted in numerous false statements in the books and records of the trump organization. And it's important for the American public to understand this. Nothing to do with collusion. This is financial fraud. Garden variety financial fraud. It was disguised as a payment for legal services to you. But this was not a payment for legal services, was it, Mr. Cohen?

Cohen: No, sir.

Rep. Khanna accentuated the point, driving it home.

Khanna: I just want the American people to fully understand the explosive nature of your testimony and this document. Are you telling us, Mr. Cohen,. that the president directed transactions, in conspiracy with Allen Weisselberg, and his son, as part of a criminal conspiracy of financial fraud . Is that your testimony today?

Cohen: Yes.

Khanna: And do you know if this criminal financial scheme by the president, Allen Weisselberg, and Donald Trump Jr are involved in, is being investigated by the Southern District of New York?

Cohen: I’d rather not discuss that question because it could be a part of an investigation that is currently on-going.

Oh yeah. It’s not new news but it’s one more nail that Donald Trump can feel, even as he hides across the Earth in Vietnam.

He was probably watching the television show instead of preparing for a summit meeting with his "friend " Rocket Man and murderous leader who is going to kick his ass.

S.Scott used to be rational.

Michael Cohen: I know he committed crimes, but cannot talk about it.

You ignored this.

Cohen said that he is in "constant contact with the Southern District of New York regarding ongoing investigations," and that they have asked him not to talk about his most recent conversation with Trump because it is currently under investigation. He also said he has spoken with special counsel Robert Mueller's office 7 times.

If Wednesday's extraordinary House oversight committee hearing made anything crystal clear, it was this: No matter what Robert Mueller concludes from his investigation of Russian election interference, federal prosecutors in New York pose their own separate danger to the president and his business associates.

Even if those watching didn't believe anything else he said, Donald Trump's former lawyer and fixer, Michael Cohen, left no doubt that he is working closely with prosecutors in Manhattan's Southern District in criminal investigations that could end up roiling the Trump presidency. Unlike the special counsel, those prosecutors have no specific mandate — they can investigate any crime that comes to their attention.

"Is there any other wrongdoing or illegal act that you are aware of regarding Donald Trump that we haven't yet discussed today?" Democrat Raja Krishnamoorthi of Illinois asked Cohen, in the middle of the seven-and-and-a-half hour hearing full of stunning, ugly allegations.

Cohen replied: "Yes and again those are a part of the investigation that's currently being looked by the Southern District of New York."

CHTruthless I warned you that Southern District of New York is the biggest threat.

Ocasio-Cortez set up a plan to subpoena Trump's taxes.

She asked if Trump had undervalued properties to evade taxes. He said "Yes".

He's the first President to refuse to let the people see his tax reports since Nixon, the last President of resign.

Trump might move to Moscow Russia to avoid being tried for tax evasion, just like Al Capone, who was finally imprisoned for tax evasion. The President who said he could walk down 5th street and shoot people and get away with it.

Very moving words from Representative Cummings in his closing remarks.
~Marilyn~
“And I’m hoping all of us can get back to this democracy we want and we should be passing on to our children, so they can do better than we did,” he said. “When we’re dancing with the angels, the question will be asked, ‘In 2019, what did we do to make sure we kept our democracy intact? Did we stand on the sidelines and say nothing?’ ”
Elijah Cummings did something Wednesday. He stood at center stage in American life for few moments, and he stood tall with those inspirational closing remarks — a model for what a member of Congress should be.

The son of share ranchers who were virtually slaves to become an icon of racial equality with Martin Luther King Jr brought tears to my eyes.

Trump could have been a great President. The economy is growing rapidly. But almost every single day, he appeals his base 35 to 40 percent of the people, and spouts anger and frustration with the limited power of the President.

His tweets against the institutions and appeals to the good people on both sides, his pathological supporters.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

I don't think this is good news.

The White House said Thursday that the "program is changing" for the ongoing nuclear summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

The press pool covering the event was told that the meeting would end within 30 minutes — significantly earlier than had originally been scheduled for the summit in Hanoi, Vietnam. Trump will leave the summit site at that time, the White House said.

The statuses of two previously planned events — a working lunch that had been for the two sides and a joint signing ceremony for some manner of agreement — were not immediately clear.

This is something that should be heard.

Thank you. So first I want to thank you, chairman, because I appreciate the opportunity to share some final thoughts.

I have acknowledged I have made my own mistakes and I have owned up to them publicly and under oath, but silence and complicity in the face of the daily destruction of our basic norms and civility to one another will not be one of them.

I did things and I acted improperly, at times at Mr. Trump's behest. I blindly followed his demands. My loyalty Mr. Trump has cost me everything, my family's happiness, friendships, my law license, my company, my livelihood, my honor, my reputation and soon my freedom. And I will not sit back, say nothing, and allow him to do the same to the country.

Indeed given my experience working for Mr. Trump I fear that if he loses the election in 2020 that there will never be a peaceful transition of power, and this is why I agreed to appear before you today. In closing, I'd like to say directly to the president, we honor our veterans even in the rain, you tell the truth even when it doesn't aggrandize you, you respect the law and incredible law enforcement agents, you don't villainize them, you don't disparage generals, gold star families, prisoners of war and other heroes who had the courage to fight for this country.

You don't attack the media and those who question what you don't like or what you don't want them to say and you take responsibility for your own dirty deeds. You don't use your power of your bully pulpit to destroy the credibility of those who speak out against you. You don't separate families from one another or demonize those looking to America for a better life. You don't vilify people based on the god they pray to and you don't cuddle up to our adversaries at the expense of our allies.

Finally, you don't shut down the government before Christmas and new year's just to simply appease your base. This behavior is childish, it denigrates the office of the president and it's simply un-American. And it's not you.

So to those who support the president and his rhetoric as I once did, I pray the country doesn't make the same mistakes that I have made or pay the heavy price that my family and I are paying, and I thank you very much for this additional time, chairman.

Meadows has a mixed-race family and he is one of Cummings best friends on the hill.

Tlaib' s racism insult was particulary hurtful to him and Cummings.

She's a vicious hack that should be marginalized.

he sure did.

he sat there in all his mumbling, bumbling, mush-mouthed "glory" and orchestrated a show of partisan hackery that was one for the ages.

he gave voice to a pathological liar. a disbarred piece of shit and an asswipe who offered nothing new, but did confirm that his major gripe is being passed over for a role in the trump admin.

cummings is one of those fucking idiots, and i mean IDIOTS, who thinks the volume of his voice is a worthy substitute for his lack of intellect.

he represents a ghetto district in the shithole baltimore-istan. therefore it's his seat for life. but for those who can think clearly and see him for the vapid hack that he is, he deserves neither our respect nor attention.

clods like him are legion, and are a significant part of the reason why our politics are as fucked as they are, alky.

God Roger.

You are a fucking idiot!!

The President DOESN'T DENY that he reimbursed Cohen.

How the fuck does presenting a check that everyone knows exists and is not in any way illegal...

become "nuclear" ???

Fuck. You simply have no ability to think straight. Seriously, are you back on the sauce?

I don't think the hearing turned out as he expected for him and he was doing a little bit of damage control.

When he address Cohen you got the feeling he knew he was dealing with a grifter and didn't want to say so publically.
