Senate will probe the Ukrainian situation!

Graham launches probe of Bidens, Burisma and Ukraine
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey O. Graham sent a letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Thursday requesting documents related to former vice president Joe Biden and his communications with Ukrainian officials, a step seen as a GOP effort to counter the House impeachment investigation of President Trump.
The inquiry by Graham (R-S.C.) is focused on any calls Biden may have had with Petro Poroshenko, then the Ukrainian president, regarding the firing of the country’s top prosecutor, as well as any that referenced an investigation of Burisma, the Ukrainian natural-gas company that employed Biden’s son Hunter Biden.

This (of course) is being treated as a "witch hunt" by the left, who do not understand their hypocrisy and irony of demanding that investigations should not actually start unless there is already evidence of something diabolical. Trump has been investigated for the past four years, without any evidence to back up these investigations.

More odd is that two Ukrainians have already been convicted in Ukrainian court of interfering with our 2016 election, and we know for a fact that Ukraine was involved with a joint investigation with the Obama administration of Paul Manafort (during the election). We also know that Ukrainian investigators leaked information to the US press that was damaging to the Trump campaign.

While this is not proof that the Bidens did anything wrong, it is certainly enough to dispute the claims from many liberals (including several witnesses in the impeachment hearing) who demand that investigating Ukraine is a dead end, and desperately should be avoided at all cost.  One "really" has to wonder what these people are hiding.

Do Democrats wait for their testimony? A judge is scheduled to hear testimony Dec. 10 on whether people have to give depositions.”

Americans are enjoying an all-too-unusual combination of peace and prosperity. The probability that you will be killed or lose a loved one in a foreign war has dropped to nearly zero, while the chance that you or anyone you know will be involuntarily unemployed is lower than it has been in half a century. Moreover, real wages are increasing and inflation is negligible. Life isn’t problem-free, of course, but times are genuinely good. Much of the credit for this gratifying state of affairs is unquestionably owed to President Trump. Yet the Democrats assure us that he is a clear and present danger to the republic.

He is, they believe, such a menace to our sacred freedoms that the speaker of the House recently issued a press release declaring him too dangerous to leave in office long enough for the voters to decide his political fate. The next presidential election is only a year away, but Speaker Pelosi avers that allowing the democratic process to play out is a “weak response” to Trump’s crimes: “That dangerous position only adds to the urgency of our action, because the President is jeopardizing the integrity of the 2020 elections.” She is, however, oddly vague about the details of this alarming threat.

[...]

All of the above, and much more, was accomplished even as President Trump was subjected to the absurd Mueller investigation and the even more asinine “impeachment inquiry.” Imagine what the president might have accomplished if the Democrats had accepted the will of the voters. And, make no mistake, that’s what “the resistance” is about. Speaker Pelosi and the Democrats have refused to acquiesce in the peaceful and orderly transfer of power to the president chosen by the electorate. They have nothing to offer but impeachment. That makes them far more dangerous than Donald Trump.

Voters Fear Violence From Trump’s Foes More Than His Supporters

Thursday, November 21, 2019

Voters see a bigger threat from President Trump’s opponents over policy issues than from his supporters if Democrats succeed in removing him from office. One-in-three still see the threat of civil war in the near future.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 53% of Likely U.S. Voters are concerned that Trump’s impeachment and removal from office will lead to violence, with 24% who are Very Concerned. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

But 59% are concerned that those opposed to Trump’s policies will resort to violence, including 34% who are Very Concerned. These findings are unchanged from June of last year.

Independents souring on impeachment as inquiry heats up, polls indicate

Recent polling on impeachment indicates that independent voters are far from sold on ousting President Trump from the White House. In fact, the national surveys suggest support for impeaching and removing the GOP incumbent has deteriorated over the past month, even as the House inquiry has ramped up.

Fifty percent of independents questioned in an NPR/PBS/Marist poll conducted Nov. 11-15 did not support impeaching and removing Trump from office, with just 42 percent backing such a move. That’s a slight dip in support compared with the previous NPR/PBS/Marist poll – conducted the first week in October – when support stood at 45 percent.

So independents don't support impeachment, and Republicans don't support impeachment who are you left with?

Oh yeah , James. Like lemming over a cliff the Democrats go.

Intelligence Officials Say GOP Theory Is FALSE
November 22, 2019 at 3:39 pm EST

New York Times:
“Republicans have sought for weeks amid the impeachment inquiry to shift attention to President Trump’s demands that Ukraine investigate any 2016 election meddling, defending it as a legitimate concern while Democrats accuse Mr. Trump of pursuing fringe theories for his benefit.

“The Republican defense of Mr. Trump became central to the impeachment proceedings when Fiona Hill, a respected Russia scholar and former senior White House official, added a harsh critique during testimony on Thursday… She said that it likely came from a disinformation campaign by Russian security services, which also propagated it.

“In a BRIEFING THAT CLOSELY ALIGNED with Dr. Hill’s testimony, American intelligence officials informed senators and their aides in recent weeks that Russia had engaged in a years long campaign to essentially FRAME UKRAINE as responsible for MOSCOW’S OWN HACKING of the 2016 election.”

Fascinating paradox: the more President Trump gets investigated, the more crimes are exposed involving prominent Democrats.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

The Republican defense of Mr. Trump became central to the impeachment proceedings when Fiona Hill, a respected Russia scholar and former senior White House official, added a harsh critique during testimony under oath on Thursday. She told some of Mr. Trump’s fiercest defenders in Congress that they were repeating “a fictional narrative.” She said that it likely came from a disinformation campaign by Russian security services, which also propagated it.

In a briefing that closely aligned with Dr. Hill’s testimony, American intelligence officials informed senators and their aides in recent weeks that Russia had engaged in a yearslong campaign to essentially frame Ukraine as responsible for Moscow’s own hacking of the 2016 election, according to three American officials. The briefing came as Republicans stepped up their defenses of Mr. Trump in the Ukraine affair.

The revelations demonstrate Russia’s persistence in trying to sow discord among its adversaries — and show that the Kremlin apparently succeeded, as unfounded claims about Ukrainian interference seeped into Republican talking points.

American intelligence agencies believe Moscow is likely to redouble its efforts as the 2020 presidential campaign intensifies. The classified briefing for senators also focused on Russia’s evolving influence tactics, including its growing ability to better disguise operations.

In effect the President is colluding with the Russians.

Moscow has long used its intelligence agencies and propaganda machine to muddy the waters of public debate, casting doubts over established facts. In her testimony, Dr. Hill noted Russia’s pattern of trying to blame other countries for its own actions, like the attempted poisoning last year of a former Russian intelligence officer or the downing of a passenger jet over Ukraine in 2014. Moscow’s goal is to cast doubt on established facts, said current and former officials.

Or perhaps you have been tricked by the dems that Russia/Trump collusion really occurred and the Mueller "investigation" was all above board, and despite their ultra-partisan makeup finding there was no collusion. And they sure tried to flip people into saying there was. And funny Mueller was unaware of who Steele was, as his document started this whole thing and was funded by Hillary and sourced through the Ukraine. What a team he put together.

Don't worry roger, Horowitz is releasing a massive report looking into FISA warrant abuse by the FBI and has referred criminal behavior to Durham and Barr. While the press is scrambling, if nothing wrong was done then it should all be cleared up in a few weeks. And I'm sure the FISA warrants into spying on the Trump campaign and the FBI operatives are all A-OK too. And Durham's 3 trips to Italy must have cleared that all up. Funny it took more than one though. A lot of money sure was paid out though. And at least one person has apparently disappeared.

Else a lot of prominent Obama officials should be really worried. And they sure look to be

Oh my God Yes TIME

he CEO of Ukraine’s state gas company, Naftogaz, is ready to give evidence in a U.S. federal investigation that is reportedly probing the business dealings of Rudy Giuliani, the CEO said in an exclusive interview on Friday.

“I will with a high likelihood be invited to testify in this case,” Naftogaz CEO Andriy Kobolyev told TIME, citing his lawyers and contacts in the U.S. “If I am called, I would be willing to come and testify,” Kobolyev added.

Federal prosecutors are investigating Giuliani for possible campaign finance violations and illegal lobbying, according to reports published in the past week by Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal, both of which cited unnamed U.S. officials and sources familiar with the matter.

These reports claimed that the investigation stems from a federal case against two of Giuliani’s associates, Igor Fruman and Lev Parnas, who were indicted last month for allegedly violating campaign finance laws. Giuliani has not been charged with any wrongdoing.

The planned closed-door testimony from Kobolyev, which has not previously been reported, could shed light on recent allegations from U.S. and Ukrainian energy executives that Parnas and Fruman tried to use their connections to Giuliani and the Trump Administration to replace the leadership of Naftogaz, which had resisted their efforts to land a lucrative gas deal in Ukraine.

Asked whether he is preparing to give prosecutors information about Giuliani or about Parnas and Fruman, the executive said, “Both. Everything is connected.”

Giuliani has simultaneously been acting as President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer and diplomatic envoy while pursuing his own lucrative business interests. In one or several of those roles, Giuliani has been working with Fruman and Parnas.

While seeking gas deals in Ukraine this spring, Fruman and Parnas also helped Giuliani to pressure the Ukrainian government to open investigations against President Trump’s political rival, former Vice President Joe Biden. That campaign was later exposed by an intelligence-community whistleblower, whose complaint sparked the ongoing impeachment inquiry against President Trump.

Giuliani, who did not respond to TIME’s request for comment on Friday, has denied allegations of wrongdoing and insisted that he is not involved with a gas company owned by Fruman and Parnas, Global Energy Producers. “I have no personal interest in any business in Ukraine, including that business,” Giuliani told the Journal last week.

The deep state conspiracy theory bullshit is being destroyed by the Trump administration investigation into.

CNN

(CNN)The Department of Justice Inspector General's report on the start of FBI's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election will say the probe was properly launched but lower-level employees made a series of mistakes, according to two sources familiar with the matter.

The investigation on the effort to obtain warrants under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act on Carter Page, a former foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign, is expected to conclude that the FBI's Crossfire Hurricane investigation was properly predicated, and that there were a series of mistakes and improper handling of the Page FISA application by lower-level employees.
The New York Times was first to report on the expected conclusion of the report.
The report is also expected to conclude that Page was appropriately targeted for surveillance and that the FBI appropriately disassociated itself from Christopher Steele, the former British spy and author of the infamous "Steele Dossier" about President Donald Trump, after leaks and contacts with the media were uncovered.

CNN first reported that a former FBI lawyer is under criminal investigation after allegedly altering a document related to the 2016 surveillance of Page.
People familiar with the report told the Times that while it characterizes the pursuit of the FISA request as careless and slapdash, the report discredits major conspiracy theories that Trump has advanced about the investigation -- finding, for example, that the FBI met the legal evidence threshold to open the probe.

Notably, the people said that Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz did not find evidence of politically motivated actions by former FBI Director Jim Comey, subsequent acting Director Andrew McCabe -- now a CNN analyst -- or former senior official Peter Strzok, who was removed from special counsel Robert Mueller's team after an internal investigation revealed text exchanges that could be read as exhibiting political bias.

The paper reported that Horowitz identified the lawyer under criminal investigation as one of a small group of FBI officials who sent texts disparaging Trump, prompting him to depart the investigation in February 2018. After being interviewed by the inspector general's office, the lawyer resigned from the FBI in September, according to the Times.

The people told the paper that the lawyer made additions to an email from an official at a different federal agency containing multiple factual assertions -- such that the lawyer's own assessment looked like an additional assertion.
That modified email was included in the lawyer's briefing for another FBI official to read before signing a court affidavit asserting the evidence supplied for the FISA application, and contains details that will remain classified upon the report's release, the Times reported.
The forthcoming report also determines that Joseph Mifsud, a Malta-born professor referenced in Mueller's report, was not an FBI informant, the people told the Times.

Mifsud allegedly told Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos that Russia had damaging emails on 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton -- an event that factored in to opening the investigation.

Papadopoulos, right-wing pundit ., Thecoldheartedtruth have suggested that Mifsud was working for the FBI when he discussed Clinton's emails with Papadopoulos, and that the conversation was a setup by the FBI to entrap the Trump campaign. There is no evidence supporting those discredited theories, which is also undermined by the new watchdog report.

The Justice Department’s internal watchdog is expected to find in a forthcoming report that political bias did not taint top officials running the FBI investigation into possible coordination between Russia and the Trump campaign in 2016, while at the same time criticizing the bureau for systemic failures in its handling of surveillance applications, according to two U.S. officials.

The much-anticipated report due out Dec. 9 from Inspector General Michael Horowitz will allege that a low-level FBI lawyer inappropriately altered a document that was used during the process to renew a controversial warrant for electronic surveillance of a former Trump campaign adviser, the officials said. The inspector general referred that finding to U.S. Attorney John Durham, and the lawyer involved is being investigated criminally for possibly making a false statement, they said.

But Horowitz will conclude that the application still had a proper legal and factual basis, and, more broadly, that FBI officials did not act improperly in opening the Russia investigation, according to the officials, who, like others, spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the sensitive report.

His own Department of Justice is saying that the investigation into the Russian intervention into the election was completely legitimate.
