Biggest fact check so far?

Is on the liberal media reporting - who is surprised?

(two times in 16 seconds Trump agrees to condemn white supremacists)

Almost before Wallace's stupid question (because there is almost no actual real proof of White Supremacist's causing the violence) was finished, Trump had already shook his head yes and said "sure". Then right after Wallace was done, he states "Sure I am willing to do that".

On the flip side, apparently the two billion plus dollars in damage, several dead cops, several dead civilians, and hundreds injured in blm and antifa rioting... is not worthy of demanding Joe Biden denounce either blm or antifa. In fact, he denied antifa even exists.

If there is a prize for the most stupid question in a debate, Chris Wallace would win that one going away.

WALLACE: "Go ahead, sir."

Established in the midst of the 2016 presidential election by VICE Media co-founder Gavin McInnes, the Proud Boys are self-described “western chauvinists” who adamantly deny any connection to the racist “alt-right,” insisting they are simply a fraternal group spreading an “anti-political correctness” and “anti-white guilt” agenda.

Commonsense said...

From you own link Roger.

The Proud Boys, a self-described "Western chauvinist" organization, is considered a violent, nationalistic, Islamophobic, transphobic and misogynistic hate group, according to the Anti-Defamation League, a nonprofit organization that tracks extremist groups. Proud Boys members marched at the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, and have organized against Black Lives Matter protests in recent months.

What's missing in their description is the term "white supremacists" . That's usually first on the list.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Other hardcore members of the so-called "alt-right" have argued that the “western chauvinist” label is just a “PR c--- term” McInnes crafted to gain mainstream acceptance. “Let’s not bullshit,” Brian Brathovd, aka Caeralus Rex, told his co-hosts on the antisemitic The Daily Shoah — one of the most popular alt-right podcasts. If the Proud Boys “were pressed on the issue, I guarantee you that like 90% of them would tell you something along the lines of ‘Hitler was right. Gas the Jews.’”

McInnes himself has ties to the racist right and has contributed to hate sites like VDare.com and American Renaissance, both of which publish the work of white supremacists and so-called “race realists.” He even used Taki’s Magazine — a far-right publication whose contributors include Richard Spencer and Jared Taylor — to announce the founding of the Proud Boys. McInnes plays a duplicitous rhetorical game: rejecting white nationalism and, in particular, the term “alt-right” while espousing some of its central tenets. For example, McInnes has himself said it is fair to call him Islamophobic.

In its own words
"It’s such a rape culture with these immigrants, I don’t even think these women see it as rape. They see it as just like having a teeth [sic] pulled. ‘It’s a Monday. I don’t really enjoy it,’ but that’s what you do. I wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t have the same trauma as it would for a middle-class white girl in the suburbs because it’s so entrenched into their culture.” — Gavin McInnes, Get Off My Lawn, June 19, 2018

"Muslims have a problem with inbreeding. They tend to marry their first cousins…and that is a major problem here because when you have mentally damaged inbreds — which not all Muslims are, but a disproportionate number are — and you have a hate book called the Koran…you end up with a perfect recipe for mass murder." — Gavin McInnes, Get Off My Lawn, April 24, 2018

“We brought roads and infrastructure to India and they are still using them as toilets. Our criminals built nice roads in Australia but aboriginals keep using them as a bed. The next time someone b------ about colonization, the correct response is ‘You’re welcome.’”
—Gavin McInnes, “10 Things I like About White Guys,” Taki’s Magazine, March 2, 2017

“Well look at the canary in the coal mine called Britain. We see guys get away with raping children regularly, and they have excuses like ‘I didn’t understand the word ‘no.’’ We have a woman raped several times in one night. All these guys seem to…they don’t all get away but they seem to get away way too often. And then you have people being jailed for rude tweets and comments when they’re white, so…people in America say ‘Muslim are what? One or two percent of the population? There’s never gonna be sharia law here.’ And I say have a look at Britain. Have a look at Europe. That’s where we’re headed.”
—Gavin McInnes, “Get Off My Lawn”, November 4, 2017

“Maybe the reason I’m sexist is because women are dumb. No, I’m just kidding, ladies. But you do tend to not thrive in certain areas — like writing.”
—Gavin McInnes, The Gavin McInnes Show, June 28, 2017

“I just realized something. Cory Booker is kind of like Sambo. He’s kind of shucking and jiving for the white man. Cory Booker grew up rich in an all-white suburb. He’s basically a white guy. His parents were very wealthy executives at IBM… .But he wants to be a black dude, so he pretends that he’s down with the brothers and he acts outraged about racism all the time — for white people. That gets him votes from whites.”
—Gavin McInnes on his CRTV show “Get Off My Lawn,” January 17, 2018

The white liberal ethos tells us blacks aren’t at MIT because of racism. They say blacks dominate the prison population for the same reason. They insist America is a racist hellhole where ‘people of color’ have no future. This does way more damage to black youth than the KKK. When you strip people of culpability and tell them the odds are stacked against them, they don’t feel like trying. White liberals make this worse by then using affirmative action to “correct” society’s mistakes. When blacks are forced into schools they aren’t qualified for they have no choice but to drop out. Instead of going back a step to a school they can handle, they tend to give up on higher education entirely. Thanks to the Marxist myth of ubiquitous equality, this ‘mismatch’ leaves blacks less educated than they would have been had they been left to their own devices.”

—Gavin McInnes, The Gavin McInnes Show, March 8, 2017

“Why don’t we take back Bethlehem? Why don’t we take back Northern Iraq? Why don’t we start our own Crusades? That’s what the Crusades were. They weren’t just someone picking on Muslims for no reason — they were a reaction to Muslim tyranny. We finally fought back.”
—Gavin McInnes, The Gavin McInnes Show, March 8, 2017

“Buying woman parts from a hospital and calling yourself a broad trivializes what it is to be a woman. Womanhood is not on a shelf next to wigs and makeup. Similarly, being a dude is quite involved. Ripping your vaginal canal out of your fly doesn’t mean you are going to start inventing shit and knowing how cement works. Being a man is awesome. So is being a woman. We should revere these creations, not revel in their bastardization.”

“I am not afraid to speak out about the atrocities that whites and people of European descent face not only here in this country but in Western nations across the world. The war against whites, and Europeans and Western society is very real and it’s time we all started talking about it and stopped worrying about political correctness and optics.”
—Kyle Chapman, who formed the Fraternal Order of Alt-Knights, a wing of the Proud Boys, Unite America First Peace Rally, Sacramento, California, July 8, 2017

“Put something on the table! Give us a reason to accept you, because you know what? Sharia law ain’t it. Raping women ain’t it. Cutting off clits ain’t it. Throwing gay people of roofs ain’t it. You are a disgrace.”

A far-right, self-described “western chauvinistic” group, Proud Boys are listed as a white supremacist hate group by the FBI, and have been tracked by the Southern Poverty Law Center since 2016, when they were founded by Gavin McInnes, the co-founder of Vice Media (which he had left in 2008). In an article introducing the group, McInnes said they longed for a time “when girls were girls and men were men” and stood against politically correct conversations. Essentially a social club with a mission to promote white western values, Proud Boys was born as an informal small group, but it quickly grew into a more structured organization, with rules against masturbation, and mandatory tattoos of the group’s name to attain a certain level of membership.

Sure they are "white supremacists" Roger and nobody I know of actually believes they are anything but a piece of shit.

But the fact that a couple of dozen Proud Boys get together for a rally (and nothing is destroyed and nobody is injured) isn't worthy of much (if any) hand wringing.

The Proud Boys, just like Antifa, blm, or the KKK are all entitled to hold rallies and use their first amendment rights.

But none of those groups... are entitled to burn down buildings, attack police officers, injure citizens, or loot businesses in the name of their cause.

So I can condemn any hate group out there.

But I condemn (with a far greater purpose) any actions that are not consistent with peaceful gatherings, peaceful protests, and other non-violent or non-destructive first amendment activities.

Trump’s Theory of the Debate Was All Wrong
David Frum:
“Trump walked onto that stage in Cleveland seven or eight points behind,
because the traditional Republican advantage among upper-income and educated voters has dwindled;
because non-college-educated white women have turned against him;
because he is losing older voters to his mishandling of COVID-19;
because the groups he needs to be demobilized-—African Americans, the young-—are up-mobilized.

On the present trajectory, nearly 150 million votes are likely to be cast in 2020.

If Trump wins 43 percent of them and Joe Biden 50 percent, not even the Electoral College can convert that negative margin into a second Trump term.

“He needed to do something to change that reality.

“Instead, he talked
to Facebook conspiracists,
to the angriest of ultra-Republican partisans,
and to violent white supremacists.
He urged the Proud Boys to ‘stand by’ because ‘somebody’s got to do something’ about ‘antifa and the left.’
He refused to commit to a peaceful transfer of power in the (likely) event that he loses.
He threatened months and months of chaos if the election does not go his way.”

The fact that they are a hate group doesn't change the fact that they have a right to peacefully assemble.

Trump Blew the First Debate
Josh Kraushaar:
“It doesn’t take a savvy political analyst to conclude that Tuesday night’s debate was a disaster for President Trump. Trailing badly in the national polls and a critical mass of battlegrounds, his only goal should have been to convince the small number of undecided voters that they should reelect him—despite their deep reservations about his character and temperament.

“The logical presidential playbook would be to tout his accomplishments: Brag about nominating three conservative justices to the Supreme Court. Remind voters that he succeeded in diminishing ISIS while taking out the head of Iran’s notorious Revolutionary Guard. Argue that the economy is slowly but surely getting back on track. Envision a future where a coronavirus vaccine finally restores some sense of normalcy to a psychologically battered country. And in between, throw some pointed jabs at Joe Biden for not speaking out against the ideological excesses of his party’s base.

“Trump did little of that. Instead, he sounded downright unhinged at times, vitriolically lashing out against the former vice president and constantly speaking over his opponent.”

The Greatest Threat to U.S. Democracy Is the President

“President Trump’s angry insistence in the last minutes of Tuesday’s debate that there was no way the presidential election could be conducted without fraud amounted to an extraordinary declaration by a sitting American president that he would try to throw any outcome into the courts, Congress or the streets if he was not re-elected.

“His comments came after four years of debate about the possibility of foreign interference in the 2020 election and how to counter such disruptions.
But they were a stark reminder that the most direct threat to the electoral process now comes
from the president of the United States himself.”

An ugly debate can be a public service.
Mother Jones
At the Debate, Biden and Trump Showed America Who They Really Are.
That’s a Win for Biden.
by David Corn Washington, DC, Bureau Chief

Donald Trump was talking at Joe Biden, and Joe Biden was talking to America.

That’s what happened Tuesday night during the first presidential debate of 2020. Trump was focused on smearing his opponent, and Biden was trying to connect with voters.

Throughout the evening, Trump kept his sneering look fixed upon Biden, as he heaped abuse on Biden (and Biden’s son, Hunter). Trump rarely addressed voters. It was as if he was only bent on creating content for Sean Hannity.

Biden, in a stark comparison, often peered into the camera and attempted to speak directly with viewers. At one point, Biden, while responding to yet another Trump assault on Hunter Biden, brought the debate straight to those watching: “This is not about my family or his family. It’s about your family.”

It was clear that the two men viewed their tasks rather differently. Trump’s goal was to bully and soil Biden. He constantly interrupted and talked over Biden, insulting him as much as he could (“there’s nothing smart about you, Joe”) and practically turning moderator Chris Wallace, the Fox News host, into road kill. He acted like a pathetic narcissist: Biden is the threat to his existence, destroying Biden is his only priority. He could not imagine a strategy beyond a DEFCON-1 personal attack. Reaching voters who were not already die-hard Trump devotees was not on his to-do list. Trump doesn’t give a damn about that. He only cares about the Fox-watching cultists who are already in his pocket.

The Trump campaign obviously needs to expand his vote count beyond FoxWorld. He needs some of those suburban “housewives” he has been trying to scare with his racist demagoguery. But many of those voters are not with Trump or have left him because of his divisiveness, his lack of decency, and his penchant for chaos. Trump’s historic (in not a good way) performance is likely to alienate these folks further. He did absolutely nothing to change minds, to persuade, to coax, to win over.

And that set up one of Biden’s best lines of the night, when the former veep slammed Trump’s callous remark about the COVID-19 deaths and said to him, “‘It is what it is’ because you are who you are.”

This was Biden’s main attack on Trump; he’s a self-obsessed jerk who cannot act as a responsible adult during a national crisis. At the debate, Trump proved him right.

But Biden did all he could to pull out of the black hole created by Trump’s cray-cray. He often refrained from taking the bait. And when he could, he tried to escape the vortex and tell voters what he would do to help them.

On health care. The economy. Climate change. Systemic racism.

Sure, he got in his licks against Trump, calling him a “clown” and a “racist”—telling Trump to “shush” and “shut up,” as Trump repeatedly violated the debate rules he had agreed to.

But Biden saw his primary objective as selling himself as a normal, caring guy who would go to work for you. He was aiming to appeal to voters, especially those not decided. He is an old-fashioned pol who does believe that trope that success in politics is about addition—adding voters to your coalition.

More than once, Biden sought to forge a heartfelt bond with voters. “Millionaires and billionaires” like Trump have done very well during the pandemic, he said. “But you folks at home…how well are you doing?”

In another moment, he spoke empathetically to those Americans who have lost loved ones during the pandemic and shared their pain. Trump not once referred to the devastating losses caused by the pandemic.

Trump was given plenty of chances to act…well, like not an asshole. When asked to condemn white supremacists and right-wing militias, he could not do it. “Stand back and stand by,” he eventually muttered. That was no ringing denouncement. (One of these groups, the Proud Boys, immediately adopted Trump’s words as its new slogan.) Trump demonstrated that he is a human being without an iota of grace when he refused to acknowledge Beau Biden’s military service and his tragic death. Asked about racial inequity, Trump ranted about the support he gets from cops.

With this horrible performance—full of lies and bluster—Trump reaffirmed that he doesn’t give a damn about norms and that all that matters for him is the turmoil that he can create. He encouraged his followers to flood into voting places (to challenge voting they deem unfair), and he signaled he would contest results that don’t favor him. That is, he vowed to instigate more chaos.

It is tough to see all this as a productive course for Trump. He is throwing red meat to his loyal carnivores, and his chops-lickers will relish the raw flesh. But others will view this meal as a disgusting mess and ask, “Do we really want four more years of this?” (Side note: Any commentary about how awful these 90 minutes were is incomplete if it doesn’t pin all the blame on Trump.)

In the end, though, this debate was a success.
It provided voters accurate impressions of these two men. Trump was about as Trumpy as he could be. He did not take responsibility for a pandemic response that has led to tens of thousands of preventable deaths. He could not rise above his egotistical pettiness and brutal psychopathy. Yet again, he proved he has no capacity to heal or help a nation experiencing a horrific plague and other crises.

Though Biden stumbled through some answers and muffed a few opportunities to lay Trump low, he came across as a competent fellow who generally wanted to talk about issues in a productive manner. Nothing too exciting. Nothing too wild. But if Biden is correct, if the election this year is about the soul of the nation, then this debate highlighted that the choice is a damn clear one between a conventional, normy soul and one that is dark and ugly.

And that’s a win for Biden.

The only Black Republican member of the U.S. Senate suggested President Trump “misspoke” during Tuesday's debate in Cleveland when he refused to explicitly condemn white supremacist groups.

“I think he misspoke,” Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., said Wednesday when asked by reporters about Trump’s comments before a meeting on Capitol Hill with Amy Coney Barrett, the president’s Supreme Court nominee. “I think he should correct it. If he doesn’t correct it, I guess he didn’t misspeak.”

Stand by and stand ready.

Biden was sincere, and his fatherly love for both his sons shone through. In a remarkable moment, Biden—in a perfect antithesis to the abusive father figure—stopped avoiding Trump’s attacks on Hunter and paused to address an aspect of it, defending his child. He acknowledged that his son once had a drug problem, and that he’d overcome it, and he was proud of him. This is a circumstance many Americans know well; the opioid crisis has made this problem familiar to many, many families. Trump used that pain to try to score a cheap point he’d already tried to make a dozen times.

The defining quality of the abusive father is the abuse. Like most such men, Trump finds the very idea of equality humiliating. He can only abide supremacy. And he makes it clear that if he doesn’t get his way, he will hurt you—however he can, using whomever he can. Nazis, Proud Boys—it doesn’t matter. As long as they’re on his side, he’ll use them against you. And if he doesn’t get to win, he’ll burn it all down with him.

Those who have had an abusive relative know that what one longs for—what one wants to have happen more than anything in the world—is for someone in the outside world to acknowledge what’s happening. To see it, and to stop it. Biden’s performance was uneven, but he delivered on that in spades. He narrated what Trump was doing while looking at the camera and talking to the American people. He turned to him and said what so many Americans have desperately wished they could say: “Will you shut up, man?” It was cathartic, even validating.

America is not a family, though, and citizens are not children. When Biden delivered his last answer of the night, on election security, he was very clear about who has to do the rescuing. “He cannot stop you from being able to determine the outcome of this election,” he said, countering Trump’s numerous attempts to do exactly that. “Just make sure you understand, you have it in your control to determine what this country is going to look like the next four years.”

Who thinks white supremacists are a major force in America? There haven’t been any two people in 50 years who’ve gotten together and said, “Aren’t whites way better? Shouldn’t we rule over other people?”

“White supremacy” is a bogus concept invented on college campuses. There are white men who do horrible things, just as there are Asian men and black men who do horrible things. But they don’t represent any kind of kind of organized movement.

You know what’s an organized movement? Antifa — Rose City Antifa, Antifa Seven Hills, Antifa Sacramento, Atlanta “Antifascists” and so on. They’re organized well enough that hundreds, sometimes thousands, of antifa members always know exactly when and where to show up, and what weapons to bring. Then they turn around and celebrate the destruction they’ve wrought (unpunished by Democratic mayors and liberal district attorneys).

But in Chris Wallace’s demon-haunted imagination, out beyond the coastal cities, there’s a scary world of pickup trucks being driven by men with long-barreled guns trying to re-enact “Roots.” (And they shop at Walmart!)

When Trump tried to bring up Pearl Harbor — i.e., the actual violence, as opposed to liberal imaginary violence — Wallace cited Kenosha.

REMINDER: After two nights of looting and arson by “peaceful protesters” in Kenosha in response to the police shooting of a knife-wielding black man resisting arrest, a group of men calling themselves “Armed Citizens to Protect Our Lives and Property” did just that. One of the men, Kyle Rittenhouse, shot three antifa as they were attacking him, killing two, in a clear case of self-defense.

That’s Wallace’s big example of right-wing violence: an armed citizen defending himself. The left wants antifa to rule our cities, with no pushback from uppity Americans.

Trump’s more addled debate partner, Joe Biden, threw in the Proud Boys — without correction by Wallace, whose entire career at Fox has been an audition tape for NBC.
