Three times I got pictures sent to my twitter account from Roger...

Apparently attempting to prove that someone named Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa who claimed to be a victim of Islamaphobia, hated Donald Trump, and killed a bunch of white people, was a White Supremacist.

This white guy was the shooter!

No, wait - this white guy was the shooter!

I guess this guy was the shooter, but he still looks white?

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden plans to make the country's biggest investment ever in an all-volunteer army of doctors, nurses and medical support teams that has been a pillar of his strategy to accelerate the pace of Covid-19 vaccinations in the U.S., two administration officials said.

Biden plans to direct $100 million from the recently enacted $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan to bolster the Medical Reserve Corps. Created shortly after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, the corps is a network of about 200,000 health professionals who can rapidly deploy to respond to public health emergencies.

Biden will announce the news in his first news conference as president on Thursday, when he will set a new target to accelerate vaccinations after the administration beat his initial goal of administering 100 million vaccination shots in his first 100 days in office.

Biden: U.S. will reach vaccination goal of 100 million doses after 58 days in office

Pretty sure Roger...

That it was liberals who used this shooting for political purposes and believed it was a "politically motivated" White Supremacy hate crime.

Not conservatives. Most conservatives actually waited till we had all of the information before making a judgement. Something that left and the media is apparently incapable of doing anymore.

BETTER QUESTION: DOES BIDEN KNOW HE’S JOE BIDEN? Does Biden Know He’s Not FDR?

Axios reports this morning that President Biden has been consulting with historians in his quest to figure out who he is — and that, right on cue, those historians have suggested that Biden is a Great Man who has been sent to completely overhaul the United States. Among the ideas with which the president’s consultants apparently agreed are that now is the time for Biden to “jam through once-in-a-lifetime historic changes to America,” that he must “go even bigger and faster than anyone expected,” and that it would be a good idea for him to “jam through what could amount to a $5 trillion overhaul of America, and vast changes to voting, immigration and inequality.”

Evidently, the Biden years are set to involve a lot of “jamming.”

Let us mince no words: This advice is deranged. FDR and LBJ, to whom the historians apparently have compared Biden, were both swept into office in landslide victories, alongside large congressional majorities — often large supermajorities — that were on board with their agenda. Joe Biden, by contrast, won the Electoral College by 45,000 votes, enjoys no majority in the Senate, and has a House majority so thin that the Democratic Party is trying to steal a House seat in Iowa that has already been certified for the GOP. As Lloyd Bentsen might have said: I’ve read about FDR, and Joe Biden, you are no FDR.

Jamming through that “$5 trillion overhaul” also greatly increases the odds that Biden will have to address the nation via television after a stock market crash, the way that he thinks FDR did in 1929:

Back to normality

Last week, Biden hinted at a new vaccination goal after he announced that the U.S. was on track to surpass his previous timeline of administering 100 million doses during his first 100 days in office. Now the administration "may be able to double it," Biden told reporters last week.

The country is delivering about 2.5 million doses a day, and 128 million doses have been administered overall, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The number is expected to continue to increase as a third option, Johnson & Johnson's one-dose vaccine, becomes more widely available. Biden has also recently said he is looking to July 4 as a date by which those in the U.S. might be able resume more normal routines.

I am not even sure what that means, Roger?

My first post or comment on the shooting was made "after" the killer was identified and it included his name and his picture.

The only personal observation I made was that the facts didn't fit the original narrative of a White Supremacist and that it was likely that the shooter being an Islamic Syrian Refugee from the Obama time would mean that the story would just go away.

But I suppose I might have underestimated gun control idiots who react to every shooting (that does not take place with an illegal handgun in some urban area - which is 90% of the shooting) as a need to take the hunting rifles away from law abiding midwestern rural people.

Back to reality, the RINO Wall Street Journal reports

The economic revival is arriving sooner than many economists projected at the start of the year, before a $1.9 trillion stimulus package was signed into law.

Widespread vaccine availability will allow the pandemic to fade, along with consumer fear and business restrictions. As the economy further reopens, consumers will spend even more on services such as restaurants, airlines and spas. Household savings totaled $3.9 trillion in January, up from $1.4 trillion in February 2020, before the pandemic hit the U.S. economy. A third round of stimulus checks recently started showing up in households’ bank accounts, leaving many Americans with more cash to spend.

Economists surveyed by The Wall Street Journal this month raised their average forecast for 2021 economic growth to 5.95%, measured from the fourth quarter of last year to the same period this year, from a 4.87% projection in February’s survey. The higher figure would mark the fastest such pace in nearly four decades, following a steep downturn last year,
under the former President Trump.

Today's promising numbers would have been horrific at this time last year and are hardly as good as they need to be. The pandemic is nothing if not dynamic, with ever-shifting expectations and outcomes.

Similarly, the actions that looked wise last month can seem ill-advised today, when new data and results cast a new light on decisions and the people who make them. No one knows this more than the country's governors. Since the Trump White House dumped the job of handling the pandemic almost entirely into their laps, they have had to respond on the fly. Without a coordinated, effective federal response the states have had to fill the gap. Some governors have been heroes in this crisis, others goats. Many, strangely, have been both.

We are already seeing the first wave of "who won and who lost" sorts of stories pitting various governors' responses against each other in horse-race fashion, as if these were early polls for the 2024 presidential election.

Take the recent flurry of articles on the pandemic "performance" of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. He was in the spotlight last spring, when some on the right declared him a visionary for ignoring medical advice and reopening his beaches for college kids' fun-in-the-sun. Cases did not rise at first -- or perhaps reported cases did not rise, as some questioned the Florida government's transparency in reporting data -- and DeSantis briefly stood in the winner's circle.

Then reality stepped in. A surge of summer cases forced the imposition of some restrictions on Floridians, like local mask mandates imposed by mayors in some cities in South Florida.

Cases decreased for a few months until, as in the rest of the country, early November to mid-January saw an even more alarming spike of infections (and another round of accusations about the accuracy of the counting). DeSantis has denied these claims throughout, considering them all "political."

Now DeSantis is claiming again to be a master of pandemic control, as Florida's beach-tourism-restaurant industry is said to be doing well. Never mind that the state's seven-day infection rate of 143.9 per 100,000 population places it 12th highest of the 50 states.

DeSantis is so tickled with himself that he even gathered admiring scientists like the former Trump coronavirus adviser Dr. Scott Atlas -- a neuroradiologist -- to celebrate his prescience. He played the same trick in September when he thought the worst had passed.

The problem is this: by the time the ink was dry on DeSantis' latest claim that "Everyone told me I was wrong ... (but) it's clear. Florida got it right," newer data showed trends flipping to the wrong direction. For example, as of March 22, over the last seven days, Florida has had the most Covid-19 cases in the country, according to data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the 12th highest per capita case-rate, the fourth highest number of deaths, and the 17th highest death rate.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom seems to be following an exact opposite pattern from DeSantis in both praise and ridicule. Once celebrated for his pandemic management, he is now getting poor marks on managing. He has not strutted or had roundtables of fan-doctors to sing his praise. But the fact is California's recent numbers are much better than those of Florida, coming in at about 47th in the country with a case-rate 46.8 per 100,000, according to the CDC's data, and fewer deaths as well.

Why is DeSantis up and Newsom down? It's simple: Florida is ignoring the death toll and instead pushing the upbeat metrics the governor would like America to pay attention to: jobs are up! and schools are open! DeSantis stood up to the Covid-19 threat like John Wayne would have done!

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Joe Biden yesterday said that women can do everything men do exactly the same or even better. And now, the (former) president is putting his money where his mouth is by stepping aside in favor of female VP Kamala Harris.

Many had called Biden out for his controversial statement, pointing out that if women can do everything better than men, it was hypocritical for the president to remain the president when there was a much better elected official right in line behind him. Thankfully, politicians always strive for their actions to be consistent with their words, and Biden is no exception [satire]. And so he announced his resignation today.

"Women can do everything better than men, especially presidenting," Biden said at his formal resignation ceremony Thursday. "Therefore, I will step aside and allow this talented, bright, clean, and articulate young lady to take over. She's the best. A really good head of hair on her shoulders."

Harris looked on awkwardly. She might have been cringing but it was hard to tell with her mask.

"We'll take questions now," Biden said before the feed cut without him taking any questions.

Congratulations, President Harris!

"I believe we should go back to a position of the filibuster that existed just when I came to the United States Senate 120 years ago," Biden said, a joke about his age that largely fell flat.

He pulled a card out with statistics, noting that from 1917 until 1971, there were a total of 58 motions to break a filibuster, with "five times that many" last year, indicating, he said, that "it's being abused in a gigantic way."

Biden suggested he "strongly" supports moving back to the original process of the filibuster, but said he also has an "open mind" on the use of the filibuster on certain topics, including voting rights, a key legislative priority for him that does not currently have the votes to pass.

"I strongly support moving in that direction, in addition to having an open mind about dealing with certain things that are, are just elemental to the functioning of our democracy, like the right to vote, like the basic right to vote," he said.

Washington — President Biden on Thursday revealed he plans to seek a second term in the White House in 2024 and he said he expects Vice President Kamala Harris would again be his running mate. Mr. Biden talked about his plans in 2024 in a roughly hourlong press conference, the first of his presidency, where he also announced he would doubling his vaccine goals to 200 million doses in his first 100 days and would be detailing an infrastructure plan on Friday.

Mr. Biden has not yet filed for reelection, while former President Trump had already done so at this point in his presidency. But the president told CBS News chief White House correspondent Nancy Cordes it is his "plan" to run again.

"That is my expectation," Mr. Biden said, although he added that he doesn't normally plan that far in advance.

The president fielded questions from reporters for roughly an hour on a range of topics, including the ongoing crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border, the legislative filibuster and foreign policy challenges his administration is confronting.

At the start of his remarks, Mr. Biden said he is increasing his goal for vaccine doses administered in his first 100 days in office to 200 million. The nation surpassed his initial target of 100 million shot last week, on the 58th day of his presidency.

With Mr. Biden's sweeping $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package passed by Congress and signed into law, the president revealed the details of his next major initiative, infrastructure, will be announced Friday during a trip to Pittsburgh.

The proposal will address both physical and technological infrastructure, the president said, "so that we can compete and create significant numbers of really good paying jobs." Mr. Biden said "the future rests" on whether the U.S. has the best airports, ports, railroads and roadways to facilitate business.

On Oct. 23, 2018, President Joe Biden’s son Hunter and daughter in law Hallie were involved in a bizarre incident in which Hallie took Hunter’s gun and threw it in a trash can behind a grocery store, only to return later to find it gone.

Delaware police began investigating, concerned that the trash can was across from a high school and that the missing gun could be used in a crime, according to law enforcement officials and a copy of the police report obtained by POLITICO.

But a curious thing happened at the time: Secret Service agents approached the owner of the store where Hunter bought the gun and asked to take the paperwork involving the sale, according to two people, one of whom has firsthand knowledge of the episode and the other was briefed by a Secret Service agent after the fact.

The gun store owner refused to supply the paperwork, suspecting that the Secret Service officers wanted to hide Hunter’s ownership of the missing gun in case it were to be involved in a crime, the two people said. The owner, Ron Palmieri, later turned over the papers to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, which oversees federal gun laws.

The Secret Service says it has no record of its agents investigating the incident, and Joe Biden, who was not under protection at the time, said through a spokesperson he has no knowledge of any Secret Service involvement.

Days later, the gun was returned by an older man who regularly rummages through the grocery’s store’s trash to collect recyclable items, according to people familiar with the situation.

The incident did not result in charges or arrests.

But the alleged involvement of the Secret Service remains a mystery. One law enforcement official said that at the time of the incident, individual Secret Service agents at the agency’s offices in Wilmington, Del., and Philadelphia kept an informal hand in maintaining the former vice president’s security. The person cited an instance in 2019 when the Wilmington office of the Secret Service called the Delaware State Police to arrange security for a public appearance by Biden.

The Secret Service declined to answer a question about whether it had informal involvement in Biden's security during this period.

Despite GOP Resistance, Biden is Confident He Can “Get Things Done”

President Joe Biden said he plans to slowly chip away at the key issues he touted during his campaign — namely immigration, climate change, and gun control — as his time in the White House continues, but stressed that the “most urgent problem facing the American people” is dealing with the coronavirus pandemic and the economic downturn it caused.

When asked if he would be able to push through key aspects of his agenda despite GOP opposition in Congress, the president pointed to the recently-passed $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan as evidence that he will be able to further champion progressive legislation.

“I've been hired to solve problems, not create division,” Biden said Thursday, adding: “My Republican colleagues are going to have to determine if we’re going to work together or if the way they want to proceed is to decide to divide the country and continue the politics of division.”

Biden’s plan notably did not receive a single GOP vote in the Senate, and every single House Republican — plus one Democrat — also voted against the final bill.

The topic of the filibuster — the 60-vote threshold to end debate and pass major legislation in the Senate — came up a number of times throughout the news conference.

Biden noted that the filibuster is “being abused in a gigantic way,” and noted a desire to return to the “talking” filibuster — where Senators would have to physically stand on the Senate floor and speak to filibuster a bill.

“I believe we should go back to a position of a filibuster that existed just when I came to the United States Senate 120 years ago,” Biden said, joking about when he was first elected to the chamber in the 1970s.

Biden acknowledged that a 50-50 deadlocked Senate leaves little room for error for the Democratic caucus, but said that “I’m a fairly practical guy. And I want to get things done ... I have never been particularly poor at calculating how to get things done in the United States Senate.”

The president promised that “we’re going to get a lot done,” but added that “if we have to, if there's complete lockdown and chaos because of the filibuster, we're going to have to go beyond what I'm talking about."

The president also touched on recent efforts by Republicans to overhaul voting laws across several states, including a bill in Georgia that would add new requirements and restrictions on absentee voting and giving the GOP-led legislature greater control over the administration of elections.

“What I’m worried about is how un-American this whole initiative is. It’s sick,” Biden said, adding: The Republican voters I know find this despicable ... I'm not talking about the elected officials, I'm talking about voters.”

The Georgia bill, which Democrats and voting rights groups say would disproportionately disenfranchise voters of color, is part of a wave of GOP-backed election bills introduced in states across the country after former President Donald Trump stoked false claims that fraud led to his election loss in November.

“I’m convinced that we’ll be able to stop this, because it is the most pernicious thing — this makes Jim Crow look like Jim Eagle,” Biden said, referencing laws enacted in the late 19th and early 20th centuries that enforced racial segregation in the South.

Senate Democrats on Thursday stepped up their efforts to muscle through the largest overhaul of U.S. elections in a generation, setting up a fight with Republicans that could bring partisan tensions to a climax in the evenly split Senate and become a defining issue for President Joe Biden.

A .22 rimfire don't have a Primer: The primer is an explosive chemical compound that ignites the gunpowder when struck by a firing pin.

The firing pin hit the rim of the cartridge on a rim fire 22.

U.S. stocks wiped out earlier losses and turned higher in volatile trading Thursday as the market tried to rebound from a two-day losing streak.

The S&P 500 traded 0.4% higher, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 200 points after losing as much as 348 points. The Nasdaq Composite also turned 0.2% higher as some major technology stocks reserved losses. Tesla rose 1.4%, while Apple and Alphabet both traded in the green.

Sleepy Joe Biden wins again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again
