Most recently NBC just came out with a new poll showing Joe Biden at 53% at his 100 day level among all voters and 51% with Registered voters. While this compares favorably to Donald Trump, it compares unfavorably to Barrack Obama (who was still in the 60s) and George Bush, who sat at 57%.
Meanwhile, you see Reuters, Marist, Fox at 54%. CNN, ABC, YouGov at 52%. Rasmussen and Quinnipiac at 48%. You see many fairly unimpressive numbers for someone who seems immune from any media criticism.
But what you do see that seems to bump up the averages are a couple of stubborn pollsters who continue to show the President up in the 60 range. Politico is one of those pollsters and a quick look at their demographic make up will tell you why. 41% Democrats, 30% Independents, and 29% Republican. If this sounds like a broken record (people complaining about polling bias) it's because it just keeps happening.
To be clear, in the last election (just a few months ago) the partisan breakdown was 37% Democrat, 36% Republican, and 26% Independent. If you were to weigh the Demographics of the Politico poll by what we just tangibly saw, the Biden approval drops to approximately 54%. Still on the high end (mainly because Politico finds almost no Democrats who do not approve of Joe), but more in line with the other pollsters.
Remove those 60% plus polling outliers from the list, and his average RCP approval would stand at approximately 51%. Yeah, higher than Trump, but extremely low for any other President enjoying their honeymoon period.

Several million women who are self identified as Republicans or independents, voted for Sleepy Joe.

For the first time, 18-wheelers are stopping at the Rio Grande to dump their cargo in the poorly defended Big Bend areas of West Texas as cartels shop for new crossing points.
“It’s never been this busy,” one agent told Todd Bensman of the Center for Immigration Studies. He has been on the border charting the impact of Biden’s border-opening policies, dubbed “la invitacion” by illegal immigrants.
Bensman wrote in a new report, “Eighteen-wheeler tractor-trailer rigs and trucks of all sizes now pull right up to the river in unending succession to unload people and drug cargo in broad daylight along the long empty stretches of riverside territory. Police chases of immigrant transport vehicles are now commonplace in towns further inland for the first time. And border patrol agents, largely unreinforced despite new circumstances, are chasing groups through the desert day and night, losing most and strained beyond capacity to impact what’s happening, they say."
The agent, only identified as a 10-year veteran, told Bensman, “I’ve never seen 18-wheelers out on the levy on the Mexican side like this, filled with God-only-knows what. It was predicted before the new administration came in, and it happened. Now the cartels are having a field day.”
A key point in Bensman’s new report is how cartels are shopping for new opening points, cleared as the Border Patrol shifts agents to areas overwhelmed by illegal immigrants by Biden’s open borders move.
“There’s no one watching,” a smuggler told Bensman, of the rugged West Texas border.

In March, the President signed into law the American Rescue Plan, which continues to provide immediate relief to American families and communities. Approximately 161 million payments of up to $1,400 per person have gone out to households, schools are reopening, and 100 percent of Americans ages 16 and older are now eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine. The Rescue Plan is projected to lift more than five million children out of poverty this year, cutting child poverty by more than half. While too many Americans are still out of work, we are seeing encouraging signs in the labor market, as businesses begin to rehire and some of the hardest hit sectors begin to reopen.
But the President knows that we need to do more. It is not enough to restore where we were prior to the pandemic. We need to build a stronger economy that does not leave anyone behind – we need to build back better. President Biden knows a strong middle class is the backbone of America. My personal indicator of how the polls are bullshit is how divided the country has become. Provide direct support to children and families. Our nation is strongest when everyone has the opportunity to join the workforce and contribute to the economy. But many workers struggle to both hold a full-time job and care for themselves and their families. The American Families Plan will provide direct support to families to ensure that low- and middle-income families spend no more than seven percent of their income on child care, and that the child care they access is of high-quality. It will also provide direct support to workers and families by creating a national comprehensive paid family and medical leave program that will bring the American system in line with competitor nations that offer paid leave programs. The system will also allow people to manage their health and the health of their families. And, it will provide critical nutrition assistance to families who need it most and expand access to healthy meals to our nation’s students – dramatically reducing childhood hunger.
Extend tax cuts for families with children and American workers. While the American Rescue Plan provided meaningful relief for hundreds of millions of Americans, too many families and workers feel the squeeze of too-low wages and the high costs of meeting their basic needs and their aspirations. At the same time, the wealthiest Americans continue to get further and further ahead. The American Families Plan will extend key tax cuts in the American Rescue Plan that benefit lower- and middle-income workers and families, including the Child Tax Credit, the Earned Income Tax Credit, and the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit. In addition to making it easier for families to make ends meet, tax credits for working families have been shown to boost child academic and economic performance over time. The American Families Plan will also extend the expanded health insurance tax credits in the American Rescue Plan. These credits are providing premium relief that is lowering health insurance costs by an average of $50 per person per month for nine million people, and will enable four million uninsured people to gain coverage.

Giuliani's electronic devices were seized in the raid, The New York Times reported, citing information from the investigators.

A person with dementia may be more sensitive to noise. Noise affects people differently from a mild response or catastrophic reaction. Some may have a threshold of a few minutes and others may become overwhelmed after an hour.
Each person’s coping style to noise is different. Their individual coping style and personal tolerance to noise will impact how noise will affect the resident. The person may not be able to tell you how the noise is affecting them.

Noise studies should be conducted yearly as part of the Quality Assurance Program. This study will clearly indicate what changes need to be made. Staff often times, become desensitized to noise because they hear it on a day to day basis.
Providing a soothing, calm and quiet environment may help to decrease medications and use of restraints. Some tips to providing this soothing environment include:
• Eliminate overhead public address systems.
• Avoid playing music throughout the facility.
• Minimize noise from necessary institutional support systems such as icemakers, carts, pill-crushers.
• Enforce policies regarding care giving staff talking loudly to each other.
• Regulate the amount of noise generated by group activities; close the doors if necessary.
• Utilize sound absorbing materials in public areas.
• Use pleasant sounds as cues (bird song as residents are arising or singing show tunes or hymns before meals).
• Play pleasant, soft music during meal time.

Some of you say that I lie and misrepresent, but it was only a few minutes ago that I saw this video and read the accompanying article. It was not until then that I became aware that it is being charged that Brown was trying to hit officers with his car. If that is true, and Brown was not merely trying to escape (as the video seems to say and as I previously thought), that puts a whole new light on the event, and the judge is probably right to withhold release of the videos.

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (AP) — A judge on Wednesday denied requests to release body camera video in the case of a Black man who was shot to death by North Carolina deputies as they tried to arrest him on drug-related warrants.
Judge Jeffery Foster said he believed the videos contained information that could harm the ongoing investigation or threaten the safety of people seen in the footage. He said the video must remain out of public view for at least 30 days.
“The release at this time would create a serious threat to the fair, impartial and orderly administration of justice,” Foster said.
However, he said, videos from multiple body cameras and one dashboard camera must be shown to Brown’s family within 10 days. He said some portions of the video may be blurred or redacted, including conversations between officers. The family previously saw only a 20-second portion of one body camera video.
The decision came shortly after a North Carolina prosecutor said that Andrew Brown Jr. had hit law enforcement officers with his car before they opened fire.
District Attorney Andrew Womble told the judge that he viewed the body camera video and disagreed with a characterization by attorneys for Brown's family that his car was stationary when the shooting started. Womble said that officers shouted commands and tried to open the car before any shots were fired.
The Pasquotank County sheriff, Tommy Wooten II, has previously indicated that none of the deputies were injured. At a news conference hours after the shooting, he said, “They’re fine,” when asked about the deputies.
Womble argued that body camera video from the shooting, a portion of which was shown to the family on Monday, should be kept from the public for another month so that state investigators can make progress on their probe of the shooting.
The hearing comes amid pressure on authorities to release the video and calls for a special prosecutor to take the state's case over from Womble. The judge said he planned to issue a decision Wednesday after a short recess.
On Tuesday, Brown's family released an independent autopsy showing he was shot five times, including in the back of the head.
The FBI’s Charlotte field office, which opened the civil rights investigation into Brown’s death, said in a statement Tuesday that its agents planned to work closely with the Department of Justice “to determine whether federal laws were violated."
The independent autopsy was performed Sunday by a pathologist hired by Brown's family. The exam noted four wounds to the right arm and one to the head. The state’s autopsy has not been released yet.
The family's lawyers also released a copy of the death certificate, which lists the cause of death as a “penetrating gunshot wound of the head.” The certificate, signed by a paramedic services instructor who serves as a local medical examiner, describes the death as a homicide.
Brown was shot last Wednesday by deputies serving drug-related search and arrest warrants at his house in the North Carolina town of Elizabeth City, about 160 miles northeast of Raleigh.
The autopsy results come a day after Brown's relatives were shown the 20-second clip of footage.
One of the Brown family lawyers, Chantel Cherry-Lassiter, who viewed the video, said Monday that shots were heard from the instant the clip started with Brown's car in his driveway and his hands on the steering wheel. She said the video showed Brown trying to drive away but posing no threat to officers after they ran up to his car and began shooting.
“He finally decides to try to get away and he backs out, not toward officers at all,” she told reporters Monday.
The State Bureau of Investigation began a probe of the shooting shortly after it happened. It initially said that it would turn its findings over to the local district attorney, as is standard under state laws and procedures.
But the governor, a Democrat, urged the appointment of a special prosecutor to handle the state's case.
“This would help assure the community and Mr. Brown’s family that a decision on pursuing criminal charges is conducted without bias,” Cooper said in a statement.
State Attorney General Josh Stein said state law puts control of criminal prosecutions in the hands of the local district attorney, so his office cannot intervene unless asked. He said he has offered assistance to the local prosecutor, but has only received an acknowledgment.
Womble, who oversees Pasquotank County, issued a statement Tuesday noting that state law gives him the power to decide on prosecuting crimes in his district and he stands “ready willing and able to fulfill my statutory obligations.”

“The FBI’s requests for access to masses of electronic communications harvested by the National Security Agency (NSA) is revealed in a newly declassified report from the United States’ secret surveillance court,” the Daily Mail reported on Monday.
“It shows the FBI has continued to perform warrantless searches through the NSA’s most sensitive databases for routine criminal investigations, despite being told by a federal judge in 2018 and 2019 that such a use was an unconstitutional breach of privacy,” the report continued.
The declassified FISA report makes the legal procedures for targeting an actor for surveillance clear.
“NSA is the lead agency in making targeting decisions under Section 702,” the report says. “It may not task a selector without first determining that the target is reasonably believed to be a non-U.S. person outside the United States (a ‘foreignness determination’).”
The FBI is extensively using the NSA’s database for routine domestic investigations, despite knowing that the practice is illegal.
“In other words, the FBI continues to perform warrantless searches through the NSA’s most sensitive databases—the ones the NSA is not required to get warrants before filling with communications information—for routine criminal investigations that are supposed to require warrants,” the Daily Beast reported.

Medicaid funds would be handed to the states either as block grants or as per-capita allotments. Medicare, meanwhile, would move toward a “premium support” model where seniors would choose a private health plan, and Medicare would pay at least a portion of the premium. The plan does not describe cuts in coverage, but these proposals have been previously floated in the context of long-term federal spending reductions.
One of the biggest lies told by the Democrats in defense of the indefensible Affordable Health Care fiasco, otherwise known as Obamacare (or Obamacan't as it should be called), is that there is no plan to replace it.
First, this is a ridiculous argument to even try to make. The Democrats effectively broke a healthy free market health care insurance industry by taking the control away from the experts who kept over ninety five percent of their clients happy, and handing it over to Washington bureaucrats who one might wonder how they even manage to dress themselves in the morning.
But as a matter of partisan blindness, it's impossible for Democrats to actually allow themselves to grasp that the involvement of the Federal Government is the cause of the problem, not the potential cure. They continue to see any increase in Federal control (even that which screws things up) as progress. They fundamentally cannot accept the idea that the solution might be to bring us closer to the days when ninety five percent of the insured was happy, rather than double down on the government controlled market, where barely half are happy.

In response, Amy Cooper told Christian Cooper, who was filming her, “I’m calling the cops…I’m gonna tell them there’s an African American man threatening my life.” She did call 911 and reported that a black man was threatening her. It’s not clear if the police ever showed up, and in any event the pair quickly left the scene.
In an ideal world, an idiotic exchange between two high-strung neurotics would have received no comment. However, because every exchange where a white woman (a “Karen”) annoys a black person is now considered evidence of systemic racial oppression, this minor flap became international news and the subject of hundreds of pages of opinionating. Amy Cooper was fired from her job and shamed. Briefly, her dog was taken away.
Andy Warhol’s prediction that everyone will eventually be famous for 15 minutes appears to be coming true, in the worst possible way. Our culture is rapidly hurtling toward a vanishing point where a primal narrative about white oppression of “black bodies” is played out on an eternally repeating loop in the national consciousness. Two figures—the white oppressor and the black victim—must be fed through this sacrificial machine in order to create a scapegoat and expiate the sins of the community, which is besotted with the myth of its own racism.
