Now it's being confirmed that there is another Covid variant making it's way from the southern border into the United States. The Biden White House will not step on the toes of the pro-illegal-immigration crowd, but he doesn't appear to have an issue restricting other forms of travel.
Perhaps the master plan is to continue to allow illegals to come across the border, increase infections, and then blame the Governors from those border states for not preventing the problem. Unfortunately, we have many logic challenged people who will fall for this sort of nonsense.

With so much media attention on the Jan. 6 panel's opening hearing, Trump's loyalists made clear they'll try to distract and run counterprogramming.
McCarthy and his five picks for the panel will hold a news conference Tuesday morning, before the hearing, likely trying to shift blame on Pelosi for the security breakdown at the Capitol that day. Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) and Ralph Norman (R-S.C.) are teasing a "major announcement" Tuesday morning. Reuters reported that the GIFCT database, created in 2017, was used primarily to collect extremist material from Islamic terror groups, “until now.”
“Over the next few months, the group will add attacker manifestos — often shared by sympathizers after white supremacist violence — and other publications and links flagged by U.N. initiative Tech Against Terrorism,” Reuters reported.
“It will use lists from intelligence-sharing group Five Eyes, adding URLs and PDFs from more groups, including the Proud Boys, the Three Percenters and neo-Nazis.”
GIFCT Executive Director Nicholas Rasmussen said the tech companies want to expand their counterterrorism and censorship efforts domestically.
“Anyone looking at the terrorism or extremism landscape has to appreciate that there are other parts…that are demanding attention right now,” Rasmussen said, suggesting conservatives are the threat.
“Over-achievement in this takes you in the direction of violating someone’s rights on the internet to engage in free expression,” he admitted.

Republican lawmakers who had once demanded answers voted against forming an independent bipartisan commission to investigate, with only 35 in the House supporting its creation. Even the 10 Republicans who voted to impeach Mr. Trump have mostly stayed silent.
Only Ms. Cheney and Mr. Kinzinger, who have continued to be vocal in denouncing the former president and the violence he inspired, supported the creation of the select committee. It is to hold its first hearing on Tuesday, when several police officers who battled the mob are scheduled to testify.

The situation reflects what many Republicans say is their political reality: They know supporters of Mr. Trump, believing his lie of a stolen election, committed the violence on Jan. 6, but they are also aware that dwelling on that could hurt their chances of retaking the House in the 2022 elections. So nearly all of them are endeavoring to talk about anything — immigration, rising inflation, spiking crime rates — other than the riot, which they say Democrats want to keep in the news as much as possible and in the minds of voters.
All, that is, except for Ms. Cheney and Mr. Kinzinger. They have gambled that their political future lies in trying to transform the party back to the one they say they knew growing up. In their telling, they want to return the Republican Party to an idealized version of the Bush or Reagan administrations emphasizing lower taxes, hawkish defense and social conservatism.
They have also cast themselves as the adults in the party.

You know how I know public health authorities are lying? Their own data
In the last few weeks, politicians and senior public health officials have insisted over and over that unvaccinated Americans account for essentially ALL of the deaths of people from Covid.
At a White House press briefing on July 22, for example, Surgeon General Vivek Murthy said that “99.5 percent of Covid deaths and 97 percent of hospitalizations are [emphasis added] among the unvaccinated.”
Note that “are,” please. Are is PRESENT tense, something happening NOW.
Murthy isn’t alone.
On Independence Day, Dr. Anthony Fauci answered a question on Meet The Press about deaths IN JUNE by saying that “if you look at the number of deaths, 99.2 percent of them are unvaccinated. About 0.8 percent are vaccinated.”
To be clear on the math here, Fauci’s answer would imply that only about 80 vaccinated people - 0.8 percent of 10,000 - died in June.
These are - how do I put this delicately? - big fat stinking lies. They are off by a factor of at least five, and probably 10 or more.

George Mason University's refusal to recognize natural immunity from COVID-19 or grant merit pay to employees who don't share their vaccination status could land the Virginia public university in court.
A law professor who recovered from COVID-19, and whose doctor says he faces needless risk from vaccination, is challenging GMU's sweeping COVID rules on 9th and 14th Amendment grounds.
GMU is forcing Todd Zywicki to "choose between risking injury to his health on one hand and sustaining injury to his career on the other," says a Wednesday letter to the university from his lawyers at the New Civil Liberties Alliance (NCLA).
Zywicki's doctor and two authors of the Great Barrington Declaration filed 27 pages of statements in support of the law professor, pointing to his robust antibody levels, likely medical complications from vaccination and research on natural immunity's comparable effectiveness to vaccination.
The letter also zings the D.C.-area university for accepting any vaccine approved by the World Health Organization (WHO), including some the reported effectiveness of which is far below that provided by natural immunity.
