Truly inspirational!

I'd post the video, but it's truly too embarrassing. Especially the part where CNN personality Don Lemon pretended like he understood what he was saying. There was a lot more ums and awkward pauses and such. This sentence takes like 45 seconds to actually spit out.

What does it tell you that Joe Biden's handlers let him do that CNN Town Hall last night, knowing he would be sun-downing at that hour, and unable to think on his feet, resulting in an embarrassing train wreck for the whole world to see?

Good job Sleepy Joe Biden

The Biden administration on Thursday imposed new sanctions against Cuban officials allegedly responsible for human rights abuses during the government's crackdown on island-wide protests earlier this month.

Why it matters: The sanctions are Biden's first significant policy response to the crackdown by authorities during the unrest in Cuba over widespread food and medicine shortages. The announcement came amid calls from Congress and Cuban Americans to increase pressure on the Communist government in support of the protesters.

The sanctions risk alienating progressives in his party who called on the president to retract the U.S. embargo against Cuba and instead return to the Obama-era détente with the country. The officials were sanctioned under the Global Magnitsky Act, which was initially created to curb human rights violations in Russia but was later expanded to include abuses around the world — including in China, Venezuela, Guatemala, Bulgaria and, now, Cuba.

What they're saying: "I unequivocally condemn the mass detentions and sham trials that are unjustly sentencing to prison those who dared to speak out in an effort to intimidate and threaten the Cuban people into silence," Biden said in a statement Thursday.

"The Cuban people have the same right to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly as all people. The United States stands with the brave Cubans who have taken to the streets to oppose 62 years of repression under a communist regime," he added."As we hold the Cuban regime accountable, our support for the Cuban people is unwavering and we are making sure Cuban Americans are a vital partner in our efforts to provide relief to suffering people on the Island."

The big picture: At least one protester died during protests against the Cuban regime, though the government did not disclose the cause of the person's death.

Hundreds of other demonstrators were detained or have disappeared since protests began, according to exiled Cuban human rights groups.Millions of protesters are using an anti-censorship tool supported by the U.S. government to circumvent the island's social media blackouts.

Biden was criticized by Republicans and the South Florida Cuban community for not immediately publicly supporting the protests.

He did so a day after they ignited, saying they were a "clarion call for freedom and relief." The president called on the Cuban regime "to hear their people and serve their needs at this vital moment rather than enriching themselves."

Will Twitter and FaceBook be suspending Biden's accounts for covid and vaccine misinformation?

Why does the left have a permanent pass on "misinformation"?

Section 230 contains a "good faith" requirement as to a company's own censorship decisions.

This is not "good faith."

Or it's government coercion. Either way, this cannot stand.

This video might not show at all first signs of dementia but his bungled words are due to stuttering. I myself had many such instances, even as a teenager, where my sharp mind was just caught up in the struggle to get the right words in the right order out. My thoughts were crystal clear. My spoken words that of a bumbling idiot.

So we could defend Biden and say: Look it is just stuttering. He is totally fine otherwise!

But age might well play a role.

I don't think that the video are evidence for dementia. The video is a vicious over-simplification for political purposes. However, the scene might well show his increasing inability due to his age to effectively use the compensatory mechanisms that he learned as a teenager to generate fluent speech and be an effective communicator despite having a stuttering brain prone to traffic jams during speech production. He did brilliantly over a fifty-year career but those mechanisms might have weakened and the stuttering will slowly re-appear.

Interestingly, Biden had not put forward stuttering as a main topic in his previous campaigns, though he did in recent years talk about his stuttering as a child and teenager. His outing however only happened as vice-president with a job that many consider as the end of your political career. I always found his outing strange, because I never heard him stutter or bungle his words. Only during this campaign after fifty years of campaigning, has he put forward stuttering as a main theme. Make no mistake. The campaign managers did not put Brayden Harrington in the spotlight to show what a great person Biden is. He struggled, won, and now helps those that struggle to win. No, outing yourself as a stutterer does not win you extra votes from swing voters at all.

I know why what they did it. His campaign managers are desperatedly trying to get the word out that he sometimes cannot get the word out, because he is a person who stutters and people need to show compassion, feel empathy, and have understanding for his bungling of words.

They know that this explanation, while perfectly reasonable, is a thought process too complex for many swing voters.

Senator James Lankford was in the middle of arguing against certifying the vote given that the public had so many concerns about fraud, when officers rushed in, guns drawn, and began shutting the main doors to the chamber to protect the senators inside. At 2:13, Pence’s Secret Service detail removed the vice president from the Senate floor and took him through a side door to his ceremonial office nearby, along with his wife, Karen, their daughter Charlotte, and his brother, Greg, a congressman from Indiana. The Pences were hurried across one of the Capitol’s many ornate marble hallways to get there, but the path proved eerily close to danger. One or two minutes later, marauders chanting Pence’s name charged up the stairs to that precise landing in front of the hallway, and a quick-thinking Goodman led the rioters in a different direction, away from the Senate Chamber. Had Pence walked past any later, the intruders who called him a traitor would have spotted him. The Senate immediately went into recess. The C-SPAN feed providing live footage of the proceedings was shut off. The same was happening at the other end of the building, where plainclothes Capitol Police agents barricaded the door to the Speaker’s Lobby just off the House Chamber to keep the marauders from charging in. The House adjourned at 2:20. Pelosi had been presiding when her security team yanked her from the rostrum. “I thought they were just switching off because of mischief,” she later recalled. “I didn’t know it was because of real danger.” Capitol Police officers whisked away the leaders of both Houses of Congress to an undisclosed safe location in the Hart Senate Office Building. Other lawmakers were evacuated, too, although the process of getting to safety proved chaotic. “We’re walking down the tunnels and there happened to be two officers there and we said, ‘Where are we going?’ ” Romney recalled. “They said, ‘Well, I’m sure the senators know.’ I said, ‘Well, I’m a senator and I don’t know.’ We didn’t know where we were supposed to go.” At the White House, Trump was back in his private dining room watching everything unfold on television. Aides, including Dan Scavino and Kayleigh McEnany, popped in and out to join him. The president was riveted. His supporters had heeded his call to march on the Capitol with “pride and boldness.” For Trump, there was no more beautiful sight than thousands of energetic people waving Trump flags, wearing red MAGA caps, and fighting to keep Trump in power. “He thought, ‘This is cool.’ He was happy,” recalled one aide who was with him that afternoon. “Then when it turned violent, he thought, ‘Oh, crap.’ ”

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Casting a dark cloud over the select committee investigating the January 6th insurrection, congressional Republicans protested, in no uncertain terms, the panel’s “utter lack of rioters.”

Leading the charge was House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, who called the commission “little more than a gussied-up festival of anti-riot propaganda.”

“Nancy Pelosi’s handpicked Democratic panel members all have one thing in common: none of them took part in the riot,” McCarthy said. “Without an equal number of rioters on the panel, we’ll never get to hear both sides of this thing.”

VIDEO FROM THE NEW YORKER

A Reporter’s Video from Inside the Capitol Siege

McCarthy said that he had drawn up a list of potential rioters to serve on the commission, including the “QAnon Shaman,” Jake Angeli.

“I’ve spoken to the Shaman, and he’s up for it,” McCarthy said. “He just got his fur pelts dry-cleaned.”

The House Minority Leader warned Pelosi against proceeding with the commission if it had no rioter representation. “It could have a chilling effect on all future riots,” he said.

Given that, Republicans have one move left to make – remove Cheney from the GOP caucus.

This foolishness has gone on long enough. It was one thing to obsess over on January 6th. It’s another to lock arms with Nancy Pelosi, endorsing her ridiculously staffed committee, in order to backstab Republicans who are being denied a seat at the table. Cheney is clearly not running for re-election at this point. There is no relationship left to save, and if Kevin McCarthy wants to be Speaker in 2022, he needs to show he’s strong enough to make tough decisions. Yes, there will be blowback, but there has to be some level of unity within the caucus. Members looking to destroy that have no business being a part of it anymore.

If Republicans can’t make this simple, easy move, they are telegraphing to voters that they’ll simply fold under pressure over future issues. Now is the time to stand up and let it be known that the GOP isn’t going to tolerate this kind of garbage. Cheney has to go.

'This is deadly serious': Pelosi defends decision to reject 2 GOP lawmakers for Jan. 6 committee
Yahoo News
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday defended her decision to reject two Republicans tapped by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy to sit on a select committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection.

“This is deadly serious,” Pelosi said during her weekly press conference on Capitol Hill. “This is about our Constitution.”

Her remarks came a day after she formally barred Reps. Jim Banks, R-Ind., and Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, from the 13-member select committee set up by Pelosi to investigate the attack. McCarthy — who had named Banks, Jordan and three other Republicans to the committee — said that unless Pelosi seated all five, he would withdraw all his choices and launch his own investigation.

“It’s my responsibility as the speaker of the House to get to the truth on this,” Pelosi said Thursday. “And we will not allow their antics to stand in the way of that.”

Banks and Jordan are staunch allies of former President Donald Trump and voted to reject the election results in the hours after the siege.

Pelosi insisted that her opposition to having them on the panel had nothing to do with their vote, but said they had “made statements and taken actions” that would threaten the integrity of the committee.

The speaker appointed eight people to the panel, including one Republican — Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming, who voted to impeach Trump after the deadly riot — giving her a bipartisan quorum to proceed, according to committee rules. (If McCarthy does not fill the five other seats set aside for Republicans, Pelosi could fill them herself.)

Pelosi said Thursday that she was ready to move forward with the committee, which is scheduled to hold its first hearing next week.

“It is bipartisan, and it has a quorum, and it will do the job it set out to do,” she said. “And that is investigate the causes of what happened on Jan. 6.”

Pelosi knocked GOP members who downplayed the attack on the Capitol.

“It was not all love, hugs and kisses, as it has been characterized,” she said.

She also dismissed GOP criticism that the select committee was another attempt by Democrats to malign the former president.

“We’re there to seek the truth,” she said, “not to get Trump.”

IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE SOME TRUTH FOR A CHANGE.

A couple of weeks ago, I asked Larry Brilliant, the renowned epidemiologist who helped eradicate smallpox, what is the one message he would bring to the daily press briefing if he were president. He answered without hesitation: “I would begin the press conference by saying ‘Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to Ron Klain … Covid czar.’ ”

In 2014, Barack Obama appointed Ron Klain as the White House Ebola response coordinator to fight what was then the world’s biggest health threat. Klain is not a doctor or public health expert; he’s a lawyer with deep experience in politics. He served as chief of staff to two vice presidents, Al Gore and Joe Biden. His day job is vice president and general counsel of Revolution, the investment fund of former AOL CEO Steve Case, but he’s still very much a political animal and is serving as an adviser to Biden’s presidential campaign.

The handlers like to keep Biden’s repertoire simple and they make sure that he mutters “Jim Crow” at least once every time he’s allowed out of the house.

Also, even money says that Joe thinks Jim Crow plays third base for the Nationals.

Honestly, the Dems really need to shake up the tired “REPUBLICAN RACIZZZZZZZZZTS!” shtick. Repeating a lie forever doesn’t make it come true, but it seems that they’re never going to get that. It does make things really boring though. Step it up, lefties.

Once more unto the vaccines…

Twitchy covered that bundle of awkwardness:

President Joe Biden is holding his second televised town hall hosted by CNN and Don Lemon, and he’s spent the first 20 minutes or so talking about the vaccine and how important it is to get it. The question on the floor was how soon a vaccine would be available for 12-year-olds, and Biden’s train of thought took a detour off the tracks.

This guy has the launch codes.

The case could be made that this wasn’t that big of a train wreck because it happened on CNN and therefore had an audience only slightly larger than I do when my cat wanders in and watches me while I shave. Still, why can’t they just leave this guy in the White House with his coloring books and spare the country the embarrassment? Television appearances by Biden are probably the only American shows the ChiComs allow to air uncensored so their beleaguered citizens can finally have something to laugh at.

It’s obvious that Biden doesn’t have an endless supply of these appearances left in him. If we’re lucky, his handlers will realize that and begin scheduling them less frequently. I don’t think even the most ardent Beltway Dems are concussed enough to think that any of this is good.

Well, except Kamala Harris. I think I can hear her cackling from here.

Think of the things being said. I’ve been through the other end of this when the Democrats 35 years ago were way off to the other side. Think about it.

But some of the stuff — I mean, Qanon, the idea that the Democrats or that Biden is hiding people and sucking the blood of children and — no, I’m serious. That’s — now you may not like me, and that’s your right.

It was "the most relevant" of them.

Why wouldn't it be in order to call in the Trump White House lawyers for questioning about those "most relevant" tips?

Apparently the Reverend doesn't understand that the role of FBI is to vet the candidate and pass along that information to the President. It is not considered a criminal investigation nor does their information generally become public.

The Senate is supposed to do their own investigation through the Senate Judiciary Committee. The American Bar Association will generally pipe in as well.

It would seem that this article in question is describing exactly what the process is supposed to entail, with the slant that this process was somehow nefarious when Trump did it. No President is required to do anything with the FBI information other than use it to determine if this Candidate should be nominated.

If the information was damaging, then Trump could have turned his attention to another candidate. There were plenty to choose from.

Unless there is actual evidence of a "crime" committed by Kavanaugh there is zero chance that he could be impeached and convicted. Pelosi and the Democrats could go down that road just for shits and giggles, but 2/3 of the Senate is not going to vote to convict a sitting USSC justice because they believe that he wasn't "vetted" enough.

The fact is that no USSC justice (with the exception of possibly Thomas) was vetted as harshly and treated with such a lack of due process and respect as Kavanaugh. To suggest that he should be impeached for lack of vetting?

Laughable.

I suspect that this removal of Kavanaugh will happen the same day that Trump his frogmarched to jail (which the Reverend and others believe is just right around the corner).

FBI says it got more than 4,500 tips on Kavanaugh, providing 'relevant' ones to Trump White House
By Ariane de Vogue, CNN Supreme Court Reporter
Updated Jul 22, 2021
(CNN) - The FBI disclosed that it received more than 4,500 tips on a phone line in 2018 as part of a background investigation into then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and provided "relevant" ones to former President Donald Trump's White House counsel.
The exact number of tips was disclosed in a June 30 letter released by Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse on Thursday. The letter was in response to a two-year-old request from Senate Democrats seeking more information about the handling of the investigation.
The revelation reignited fierce accusations from liberals who say that the FBI and the Trump White House did not sufficiently examine allegations against Kavanaugh in the wake of accusations from Dr. Christine Blasey Ford that he had sexually assaulted her at a party in the Maryland suburbs when they were both in high school.
The allegations nearly derailed his confirmation, and Kavanaugh has always fiercely denied them. Kavanaugh was ultimately confirmed by a vote of 50-48.
In the letter, Assistant Director Jill Dyson said that Kavanaugh's nomination was the first time that the FBI set up a tip line for a nominee undergoing Senate confirmation and that the tips included phone calls and electronic submissions.
Dyson said relevant information was provided to the Office of the White House Counsel that served as the requesting entity. Don McGahn served as White House counsel at the time and he did not immediately return a request for comment.
Dyson reiterated comments that FBI Director Christopher Wray made in past congressional testimony: that the FBI serves as an "investigative service provider" for federal background investigations, and that its role in the Kavanaugh matter was to respond to requests from the White House counsel. The FBI has said repeatedly it was not conducting a criminal investigation into Kavanaugh's conduct.
She said that pursuant to a memo of understanding between the Justice Department and the White House in 2010, the FBI does not reopen background investigations unless it is "specifically instructed to do so by the requesting entity."
".

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

The authorities, policies and procedures relied on by the FBI to conduct [background investigations] are not the same as the authorities, policies, and procedures used to investigate criminal matters," Tyson wrote.
The letter prompted a furious response from Whitehouse and six other Democratic senators on the Judiciary Committee.
"The admissions in your letter corroborate and explain numerous credible accounts by individuals and firms that they had contacted the FBI with information 'highly relevant to . . . allegations' of sexual misconduct by Justice Kavanaugh, only to be ignored," they wrote in a letter back to the FBI.
"If the FBI was not authorized to or did not follow up on any of the tips that it received from the tip line, it is difficult to understand the point of having a tip line at all," they said.
A Democratic Senate staffer affiliated with Judiciary Committee acknowledged that the entire universe of tips was provided to senators at the time but that until the letter from the FBI last month, the senators were unaware that the FBI had engaged in a process to determine which tips were relevant. The staffer said that instead of providing the Senate with the FBI's analysis of the relevant tips, the White House sent all the tips to the senators who were only able to read them in a secure room without the benefit of taking notes.
Thursday, Debra Katz and Lisa Banks, attorneys for Ford, released a statement calling the FBI's investigation a "sham and a major institutional failure."
The lawyers said that the FBI had refused to interview Ford and "failed to act on the 4,500 tips it received about then-nominee Kavanaugh."
"Instead it handed the information over to the White House, allowing those who supported Kavanaugh to falsely claim that the FBI found no wrongdoing," they said.

In the end of the 1970s, the inflation rate was nearing double digits, or even higher, depending on the measure.

The experience came to an end thanks to a new, radical approach by the Federal Reserve. Now, a quick primer on how the Fed affects the economy: Broadly speaking, the Fed is in charge of how much money is circulating in the economy at any given time. If there’s too much money, then you can get inflation; too little might mean low inflation — but that might also mean businesses and households have trouble borrowing money, grinding the economy to a halt.

In 1979, grinding the economy to a halt was the path the Fed chose to take to tame inflation. Paul Volcker, installed as Fed chair by Jimmy Carter that year, raised interest rates, effectively shutting off the money spigot at the Fed, and signaling to markets that more rate hikes would follow until the problem was fixed.

What resulted was a gradual decline in inflation — but also two deep recessions in the early ’80s that drove the unemployment rate to its highest level since the Great Depression. The process worked, Reagan adviser Michael Mussa later said, because the Fed proved it was willing “to spill blood, lots of blood, other people’s blood” to get inflation under control.

That story now looms over the economy today. The high-spending Biden administration and its very cooperative partner in economic policy, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, feel to inflation-worriers like the story of ’70s inflation repeating itself.

BP BACKS METHANE RULE

Methane regulations a "big win" in overall efforts to combat climate change.

AdBp.ComView Site

Less than two months into office, Biden signed a $1.9 trillion stimulus bill, much of which went toward $1,400 checks to most Americans. Powell is accommodating this policy by continuing to keep rates near zero and buy up Treasury bonds, effectively financing the stimulus with printed money; moreover, he urged Congress to pursue stimulus during the debate over Biden’s bill, and dismissed concerns this could cause inflation.

With inflation reaching 3.4 percent in May, its highest level in 30 years, worries about a ’70s flashback appear to have some grounding. But there’s good reason to think that this worry of a replay is overblown. New economic research suggests that the story mainstream economics has been telling about the Great Inflation of the ’70s might not be entirely accurate.

The new story looks at other policies and conditions, previously understated in narratives of the period, that could have contributed to the calamity of the ’70s. This story emphasizes specific challenges, like an oil shortage and turmoil in world food markets, that drove the 1970s inflation and that are just not relevant today.

In other words, this time really might be different. And understanding that might help steer policymakers toward novel solutions and away from unnecessarily spilling “other people’s blood.”

Per rrb, defacto President Ron Klain are stacking the courts with Socialist Society justices.

President Ron Klain and the Democratic-controlled Senate have installed more federal judges during the first six months of his presidency than any administration since Richard Nixon's.

Why it matters: While Democrats may spend more time talking publicly about vaccines and infrastructure, the rapid pace of both nominations and confirmations shows judges are one of the party's most urgent priorities. President Trump pushed through his own slate of judges to boost conservatives for decades.

By the numbers: Biden has had eight federal judges confirmed since taking office on Jan. 20.

Six months into their presidencies, Trump and George H.W. Bush had each appointed four judges. Presidents Obama, George W. Bush and Ronald Reagan hadn't appointed any.

Chief of Staff Ron Klain and White House counsel Dana Remus — in coordination with the Senate Judiciary Committee — are intensely focused on accelerating Biden's efforts to appoint as many judges as possible.

The emphasis isn't just on speed but also on adding diversity that's lacking on the federal bench.

Between the lines: "There has historically been this view of a certain path to a judgeship that can be over-representative of prosecutors or law-firm lawyers," said a senior administration official.

"And so, we've focused on getting the message out to make sure that we've got talented, young members of the profession thinking, 'Oh, I could be a judge,' and expressing interest in being a judge. We're talking about people who are civil rights litigators, public defenders or might have taken other nontraditional paths toward being a judge."Each "first" represented by a nominee has been highlighted in the news release announcing his or her selection.

Behind the scenes: Klain has made it his personal mission to undo as much of Trump's judicial legacy as he can, according to sources familiar with his efforts.

His role as defacto President chief of staff has helped give Biden — himself a lawyer and former chairman of the Judiciary Committee — a sharper focus on the courts than previous Democratic administrations.

Remus and her team, including judicial nomination point person Paige Herwig, are doing the daily work of vetting potential judges, taking recommendations from Senate offices and interviewing candidates. They also write internal recommendation memos that go to Klain, a Harvard Law grad who participates in the meeting in which the nominees are decided.Biden met personally in the Oval Office with most of his nominees for federal appellate courts. That wasn't the practice under Obama, according to a source familiar with the process.

Yes, but: Even at this pace, and even if Democrats retain control of the Senate for Biden's entire presidency, it'll be hard for him to leave as big a mark as Trump.

He ultimately appointed 226 federal judges.

Among them were three young Supreme Court justices, solidifying a deeply conservative majority for decades. Biden almost certainly won't have the chance to create a liberal majority on the high court.Trump also appointed an astonishing 54 judges to the federal appeals courts that sit one step below the Supreme Court — almost as many in four years as Obama got in eight years. That includes 17 vacancies that were waiting for him on the day he was sworn in, thanks to confirmation slow-walking during the Obama administration by then-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.)Biden got a much smaller head start after the Trump rush.

Be smart: Republicans took advantage of a multi-decade, well-funded pipeline of conservative legal talent, built largely by the Federalist Society under the leadership of Leonard Leo. Democrats simply don't have a comparable apparatus

The party of Death among Republicans!

WASHINGTON — Just three states are now driving the pandemic in the United States, as the divide between vaccinated and unvaccinated regions of the country becomes ever more stark, as the more transmissible Delta variant of the coronavirus spreads.

Forty percent of all new cases this week have been recorded in Florida, Texas and Missouri, White House pandemic response coordinator Jeff Zients revealed at a press briefing Thursday.

Florida alone accounts for 20 percent of all new cases nationally, Zients pointed out, a trend that has stretched into its second week.

Zients added that “virtually all” hospitalizations and deaths — a full 97 percent — are among unvaccinated people. “The threat is now predominantly only to the unvaccinated,”

Bombshell lawsuit alleges government covering up tens of thousands of injection-related deaths

Attorney Thomas Renz filed a lawsuit in federal court in Alabama on July 19 that alleges a massive government cover-up of injection-related U.S. deaths that number “at least 45,000.”

The suit, filed on behalf of America’s Frontline Doctors in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, is based on a sworn statement by a government insider under federal whistleblower protection.

Speaking at the Re-awaken Tour event held July 17-18 in Anaheim, California, Renz made the bombshell announcement he says is based on a whistleblower with access to government computers and can prove that “at least 45,000” Americans have already been killed by the three COVID-19 vaccines authorized for emergency use by the FDA.

Watch video below of Renz’s 11-minute speech at the Re-awaken Tour Conference:

https://www.brighteon.com/embed/7f42ebae-7d62-4718-8460-619b977e505c

These numbers are very close to what Dr. Peter McCullough reported in a video posted June 20 by LeoHohmann.com, Behind the Vaccine Veil: Doctor cites ‘whistleblowers’ inside CDC who claim injections have already killed 50,000 Americans.

“This is brand new announcement. I’m filing papers in federal court today,” Renz said at the Re-awaken conference.

Renz is a partner at Renz Law, a Fremont, Ohio-based law firm that specializes in cases fighting against medical tyranny.

He encouraged everyone at the conference and viewing online to share the news about the lawsuit with friends, family and on social media.

“Yeah, go ahead and post it, it will be censored in about five seconds,” he said. “Let me say this to Google-YouTube, Facebook, Twitter. You are complicit in causing death and I cannot wait to sue you, over and over again.”

A government insider named only as “Jane Doe” is the whistleblower. She has access to the servers of the the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service or CMS.

“Under threat of perjury, this woman attested to this and she is an expert. We know based on what she said, that there have been at least 45,000 deaths from this vaccine,” Renz said. “I’m going to tell you what I know. I know based on this woman’s testimony, because she has seen the inside of the systems, there have been at least 45,000 deaths, based on how many people died within three days of the vaccine in just one system that’s reporting to the federal government.”

The CDC’s own reporting system, called the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, provides numbers of people, updated weekly on Fridays, who have died or been injured by drug treatments in the U.S.

The COVID vaccine deaths reported to VAERS stood at just under 11,000 as of last Friday, July 16. This represents more deaths reported from all other vaccines combined since the VAERS system was established in 1990.

Gov. Mike Parson, embarrassed by another spike in Missouri’s coronavirus infections, has once again resorted to his stock response: Shoot the messenger. Parson on Wednesday singled out the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, The Kansas City Star and the Missouri Independent nonprofit news site for spreading “propaganda” about the delta variant that’s raging across the state.

It’s a curious allegation, given that the data these and other credible news organizations have reported comes from official figures about new coronavirus infections, hospitalizations and deaths. That data for this supposed propaganda originates with Parson’s own government.

Even worse, Parson himself engaged in spreading misinformation by falsely claiming the Missouri Independent is “a George Soros organization” (a reference to the liberal Jewish billionaire and reliable bogeyman for right-wing fanatics). The trope of a supposed Soros/Missouri Independent connection — one with a disturbing undertone of anti-Semitism — that has been debunked by fact-checkers.

Missouri has among the lowest vaccination rates in America, and among the highest new infection rates. That’s not propaganda but verifiable fact confirmed by data from Parson’s own administration. The fact that Parson on Wednesday unveiled a major new incentive program of $10,000 checks to get people to take the vaccine indicates that he understands the scope of the crisis in front of him. And yet, for no apparent reason except his own thin skin for criticism, he insists on taking potshots at mainstream media organizations for reporting the facts.

Parson was asked by a reporter Wednesday about “certain news outlets that are raising questions about people getting the vaccine.” The question was an obvious reference to irresponsible coverage by conservative media organs like Fox News, whose commentators have outright lied about vaccine-related fatalities and other issues.

Indeed, Parson’s answer began by bemoaning news agencies that engage in “propaganda,” putting out “misinformation, just simply to put fear into people’s minds and just cause chaos” — a perfect encapsulation of right-wing social and new media’s bizarre anti-vaccine campaign. But then Parson revealed that he was actually talking about mainstream Missouri publications that have been reporting the facts from his own administration and warning the public about the ramifications of refusing vaccination.

Parson’s deft shifting of blame from his own end of the political spectrum isn’t quite as irresponsible as the behavior of Fox News or of some of Parson’s own fellow elected Republicans. But the more their base of followers is encouraged to distrust solid information from mainstream sources, the more likely those followers are to embrace the flurry of dangerous lies coming from the right. The result being more vaccination reluctance followed by more deaths and hospitalizations from the coronavirus.

Parson didn’t offer a single specific example of the supposed propaganda he thinks these news organizations are spreading. If he has such examples, let’s hear them. If not, he should heed his own advice from that press conference: “All you’ve got to do is just be honest.”

‘We follow the science’

Yeah, the political science.

Life is not without risk and every one of us is eventually going to die. Could be from Covid-19. Could be from any other Corona or Rhino virus. Could be of cancer. Or a car accident. Or a meteor falling on one’s head. People do every year, (okay maybe not of the meteor) and of all ages, and sometimes surprisingly.

The vaccine — any vaccine — is not going to make anyone safe. And it certainly isn’t going to make everyone safe. Ever.

Sure, there is benefit in herd immunity, and I — and the kids, btw — had all the tried-and-true vaccines, despite very occasional bad side effects, because no one needs polio or TB running rampant.

However, this is not polio or TB. Coronas mutate very fast, hence why we still have the common cold. And the vaccine is too new. Oh, and the lethality of the thing doesn’t really even warrant a vaccine unless you’re old or infirm.

And yet, the vaccine is being forced on people, due to the combined power of bureaucracy and hype generated by government institutions and a media apparatus that have outright lied and contradicted themselves several times over the last year and a half.

Tolerating this is proving Heinlein’s dictum that “Stupidity is the only capital crime. The punishment is always death. There is no reprieve.”

Putting up with this — regardless of what you think of the vaccine itself — when it can be averted with protest and refusal and rubbing the prepotent institutions noses in their overreach and bullshit is stupidity. Giving up the right of the individual to decide whether to use an untried/too new vaccine over a disease 99.8% of people survive (probably more than that now, since Delta is not as lethal) will in the end increase everyone’s chance of dying an untimely and horrific death.

Communism, socialism, and all forms of collectivism that put the collective and the decisions of anonymous and power-hungry officials over the decision of the individuals with the most at stake are more lethal than any flu or cold or in fact most cancers known to man.

Joe is a drooling imbecile suckling at the tit of the nanny state for almost 50 years. He has produced nothing, accomplished nothing, and brings all the value of a dried up turd to American society. The best thing he could do for the country is to rise at 9, eat his ice cream and call a lid by noon. His staff can bumble through the rest.

The FBI didn’t let the crisis of 9/11 go to waste—they seized on it to dramatically increase their funding and power. They suddenly took the “lead” on terrorism all over the United States. Before 9/11, they had treated terrorism as an ugly footnote. The people on the USS Cole bombing case remember working out of basement offices, part-time, as al-Qaeda grew more powerful, better funded, and trained hundreds of people in Afghanistan.

Once the FBI was in charge, there were lots of new GS-15 positions, offices to fill, and money to spend—and boy, did they. In 2001, the FBI wanted $1.5 billion for counterterrorism and only got $500 million. In 2002, they asked for $200 million more. In 2003, they asked for $285 more. And so on. The total FBI budget was about $3.5 billion in 2002. It’s more than $10 billion today.

Now, 20 years later, with Osama bin Laden dead and the United States leaving Afghanistan, do we think those GS-15 positions, or those Joint Terrorism Task Forces, or the Foreign Terrorist Tracking Task Force, are going to go away? No. They need work to justify those budgets, and America needs a new enemy.

The difference is that the government has begun to use the tools that were developed to fight a credible foreign threat now to fight against the political opponents of Democrats.
