If the United States had India's Covid recovery percentages, about 125,000 Americans would still be alive

India cannot use our vaccines because they do not have the refrigeration to store them

So instead, a country that has almost a billion more people than the United States has been using Covid treatments including both Hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin. Apparently the fish bowl cleaner and horse dewormer is working well enough that India (in spite of horrible conditions and a lack of hospital care) has a higher recovery rate that the United States. Hmmmm.... how could that possibly be? After all, these drugs are so bad that the mere mention of them can get you banned from social media.

The truth is that India is just part of the larger international coalition of countries that are not hamstringing themselves with petty politics, but rather are united in the idea of saving lives. They are not demanding that there you cannot be treated (only vaccinated) as we are doing here.  To think of it in real terms, the American liberal science on Covid says you catch it, go home without treatment, and you do not come back until you are in critical need of life saving equipment that rarely saves lives. To argue with this approach or to point out that we are isolated in our approach will only get you cancelled, banned, and possibly even fired from your job.

At least the rest of the world live under the umbrella of freedom that allows people to make decisions that will save lives without having to be worried about the consequences. Congratulations liberals! You have the deaths of 125,000 Americans on your conscious.

President Joe Biden is set to announce that the United States is doubling its purchase of Pfizer’s COVID-19 shots to share with the world to 1 billion doses as he embraces the goal of vaccinating 70% of the global population within the next year.

The stepped-up U.S. commitment is to be the cornerstone of the global vaccination summit Biden is convening virtually Wednesday on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly, where he plans to push well-off nations to do more to get the coronavirus under control.

World leaders, aid groups and global health organizations are growing increasingly vocal about the slow pace of global vaccinations and the inequity of access to shots between residents of wealthier and poorer nations.

The U.S. purchase, according to two senior Biden administration officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity to preview Biden’s remarks, will bring the total U.S. vaccination commitment to more than 1.1 billion doses through 2022. At least 160 million shots supplied by the U.S. have been distributed to more than 100 countries, representing more donations than the rest of the world combined.

The latest purchase reflects only a fraction of what will be necessary to meet a goal of vaccinating 70% of the global population — and 70% of the citizens of each nation — by next September’s U.N. meeting. It’s a target pushed by global aid groups that Biden will throw his weight behind.

The White House said Biden will use the summit to press other countries to “commit to a higher level of ambition” in their vaccine sharing plans, including specific challenges for them to meet. The officials said the White House will publicly release the targets for well-off nations and nonprofits after the summit concludes.

The American response has come under criticism for being too modest, particularly as the administration advocates for providing booster shots to tens of millions of Americans before vulnerable people in poorer nations have received even a first dose.

“We have observed failures of multilateralism to respond in an equitable, coordinated way to the most acute moments. The existing gaps between nations with regard to the vaccination process are unheard of,” Colombian President Iván Duque said Tuesday at the United Nations.

Despite repeated warnings from Presidentish Joe Biden against ransomware attacks coming from Vladimir Putin’s Russia, somehow another proscribed target just got hit by the Russians.

The “somehow” was facetious, I assure you.

This time Russian hacker group BlackMatter targeted an Iowa grain co-op, demanding nearly six million dollars or else they’d leak the company’s proprietary business data.

The co-op, New Cooperative, manages “supply chains and feeding schedules on track for millions of chickens, hogs and cattle,” according to the Washington Post.:

"The cooperative took its computer network offline to isolate the incursion, the person said, and shuttered its soil-mapping software — a master-control system that optimizes irrigation and fertilization — as a precaution."

As usual you didn't include the actual reasons why India's death rate is lower than here.

Fast forward a few frames to fall 2020. Following a sudden Covid-19 spike in which India saw its daily case count shoot up to 90,000-plus, much of the nation shut down. The decision proved economically brutal but medically shrewd. Many unemployed workers moved out of cities and into the surrounding farmlands. As people spread out, India’s case count stabilized.

By the new year, India’s daily infection count was under 20,000. The United States, by contrast, was getting blasted by the virus. Owing to holiday gatherings and “pandemic fatigue,” U.S. daily infections soon topped 250,000. Taking population into account, the rate of infection in the United States was 40 times higher than in India.

Ivermectin Wins in India
News of India's defeat of the Delta variant should be common knowledge. It is just about as obvious as the nose on one's face. It is so clear when one looks at the graphs that no one can deny it.

There is a blackout on any conversation about how Ivermectin beat COVID-19 in India. When I discussed the dire straits that India found itself in early this year with 414,000 cases per day, and over 4,000 deaths per day, and how that evaporated within five weeks of the addition of Ivermectin, I am often asked, "But why is there no mention of that in the news?"

Yes, exactly. Ask yourself why India’s success against the Delta variant with Ivermectin is such a closely guarded secret by the NIH and CDC. Second, ask yourself why no major media outlets reported this fact, but instead, tried to confuse you with false information by saying the deaths in India are 10 times greater than official reports.

Perhaps NPR is trying so hard because NPR is essentially a government mouthpiece. The US government is “all-in” with vaccines with the enthusiasm of a 17th century Catholic Church “all-in” with a Geocentric Model of the Universe disputing Galileo. Claiming that India’s numbers are inaccurate might distract from the overwhelming success of Ivermectin.

But in the end, the truth matters. It mattered in 1616, and it matters in 2021.

The graphs and data from the Johns Hopkins University CSSE database do not lie.

Let us look at the burgundy-colored graph of Uttar Pradesh. First, allow me to thank Juan Chamie, a highly-respected Cambridge-based data analyst, who created this graph from the JHU CSSE data. Uttar Pradesh is a state in India that contains 241 million people. The United States’ population is 331 million people. Therefore, Uttar Pradesh can be compared to the United States, with 2/3 of our population size.

This data shows how Ivermectin knocked their COVID-19 cases and deaths - which we know were Delta Variant - down to almost zero within weeks. A population comparable to the US went from about 35,000 cases and 350 deaths per day to nearly ZERO within weeks of adding Ivermectin to their protocol.

Well Roger...

Once again you fail to grasp the simple point.

My post has nothing to do with how many people are getting sick, but with what percentage of the sick actually die. The rate of survival for India is higher than the United States not because of lockdowns (which is only designed to slow the spread, not assist in curing the virus)... but because they have a superior method of dealing with the virus AFTER someone already catches it.

But again... if you were smarter, you would understand the point.

A larger percentage of people who catch Covid in the United States die than those in India. Which is amazing, considering the healthcare advantages we have. The only real difference is politics and the left's refusal to allow anyone to be treated.

They must want Americans to die?

Published Aug. 30, 2021Updated Sept. 13, 2021

For the past week, Dr. Gregory Yu, an emergency physician in San Antonio, has received the same daily requests from his patients, some vaccinated for Covid-19 and others unvaccinated: They ask him for ivermectin, a drug typically used to treat parasitic worms that has repeatedly failed in clinical trials to help people infected with the coronavirus.

Dr. Yu has refused the ivermectin requests, he said, but he knows some of his colleagues have not. Prescriptions for ivermectin have seen a sharp rise in recent weeks, jumping to more than 88,000 per week in mid-August from a prepandemic baseline average of 3,600 per week, according to researchers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Some pharmacists are even reporting shortages of the drug. Travis Walthall, a pharmacist in Kuna, Idaho, a town of about 20,000 people, said that this summer alone he had filled more than 20 ivermectin prescriptions, up from two or three in a typical year. For the past week he has not been able to obtain the drug from his suppliers; they were all out.

Mr. Walthall was astonished, he said, at how many people were willing to take an unapproved drug for Covid. “I’m like, gosh, this is horrible,” he said.

While sometimes given to humans in small doses for head lice, scabies and other parasites, ivermectin is more commonly used in animals. Physicians are raising alarms about a growing number of people getting the drug from livestock supply centers, where it can come in highly concentrated paste or liquid forms.

Calls to poison control centers about ivermectin exposures have risen dramatically, jumping fivefold over their baseline in July, according to C.D.C. researchers, who cited data from the American Association of Poison Control Centers.

Dr. Shawn Varney, a toxicologist and medical director for the South Texas Poison Center, said that in 2019 his center received 191 calls about exposure to ivermectin; so far this year the center has received 260 calls and is on pace to reach 390 by the end of the year. The vast majority of the recent calls came from people who took a veterinary product in an attempt to treat or prevent Covid-19.

“Everyone wants some cure for Covid because it’s such a devastating illness,” Dr. Varney said. “I plead with people to stop using ivermectin and get the vaccine because it’s the best protection we have at this point. Everything else is risk after risk.”

On Aug. 26, 2021, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) published an advisory describing the uptick in people using ivermectin.

“Clinical trials and observational studies to evaluate the use of ivermectin to prevent and treat COVID-19 in humans have yielded insufficient evidence for the NIH COVID-19 Treatment Guidelines Panel to recommend its use,” the advisory stated.

“Data from adequately sized, well-designed, and well-conducted clinical trials are needed to provide more specific, evidence-based guidance on the role of ivermectin in the treatment of COVID-19.”

Although the drug has been approved for use with COVID-19 in some countries in Latin America, scientists worldwide have continued to caution that we simply do not have the evidence to support it.

Unfortunately, when health agencies state that they have not approved certain drugs for treatment of COVID-19, some groups don’t see this as health agencies doing their due diligence to ensure only safe and effective treatments reach the public.

Instead, they claim that evidence of the drug's effectiveness is being deliberately hidden from the public, seeing health agencies and scientists as part of a conspiracy.

All over social media, there are groups like the Manitoba Ivermectin Alliance, which aims to promote ivermectin use with COVID-19. One thousand people have joined this particular Facebook group.

Its founder said in a letter online that “Ivermectin can stop the pandemic in its tracks. However, this information is being suppressed.”

Claims like these are concerning to public health experts.

“On one hand, you have these vaccines, which are arguably the most studied vaccines in human history, we have hundreds of millions of data points showing efficacy and really amazing safety profile,” said Timothy Caulfield, a public health policy expert. “And then on the other hand, you have an unproven therapy, and they are opting for the latter.”

Similarly, Dr. Shazma Mithansi, an ER physician in Edmonton, told CTV News, “There is no evidence to show that Ivermectin has any sort of meaningful effect on treatment or propholaxysis.

“People need to stop taking it. It’s dangerous.”

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

The Food and Drug Administration authorized Pfizer and BioNTech’s Covid-19 booster shots for people 65 and older and other vulnerable Americans six months after they complete their first two doses, making many Americans eligible to receive the shots now.

The FDA’s decision largely follows recommendations given Friday by its key vaccine advisory committee at a more than 8-hour agency meeting. The Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee voted 16-2 against distributing the vaccines to Americans 16 and older, before unanimously embracing an alternate plan to give boosters to older Americans and those at a high risk of suffering from severe illness if they get the virus.

Though Americans 65 and older make up roughly 17% of the U.S. population, they account for more than 77% of all Covid deaths, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The FDA granted emergency use authorization to administer the shots to older Americans, people between 18- and 64-years-old with so-called co-morbidities and front-line health workers and others with jobs that place them at a greater risk of exposure to the virus.

“The FDA considered the committee’s input and conducted its own thorough review of the submitted data to reach today’s decision,” Dr. Peter Marks, the agency’s top vaccine regulator, said in a statement. “We will continue to analyze data submitted to the FDA pertaining to the use of booster doses of COVID-19 vaccines and we will make further decisions as appropriate based on the data.”

The nonbinding decision by the vaccine advisory committee was expected to be a controversial one as the Biden administration has said it wants to begin offering booster shots to the general public as early as this week, pending authorization from U.S. health regulators.

While the agency hasn’t always followed the advice of its committee, it often does. Still, Marks reminded the panel after the votes that federal regulators did not have to accept its recommendation as written.

Rep. Adam Schiff, Democratic U.S. representative from California's 28th congressional district

Not long into former President Donald Trump’s tenure in office, it became increasingly apparent that the greatest threat to our democracy came not from a Kremlin intent on subverting our elections but from within, from an executive willing to use his power maximally, without regard for other institutions or the norms of office long associated with the presidency.

It turns out the norms that made our system of checks and balances work so well could be violated with near impunity, provided one condition was present.

For decades, we assumed these norms were inviolate, that presidents couldn’t use their office to enrich themselves, use the Justice Department to go after their enemies, use federal employees and federal properties as campaign workforces and assets or ignore and belittle the powers of Congress. If these abuses were not per se illegal, they were unimaginable and beyond the pale of American politics. Or so we thought.

We were wrong. It turns out the norms that made our system of checks and balances work so well could be violated with near impunity, provided one condition was present: that one of America’s two great parties put the interests of a president above all other considerations.

The potent remedy the founders provided for a corrupt chief executive has proven ineffective — even for a president who sought illicit foreign help in his election and fomented an insurrection against his own government — in the face of one party’s determination to maintain power at all costs. The founders were deeply concerned about exactly this phenomenon, an excess of what they called “factionalism” and what we now call “extreme partisanship.” And the failure of that remedy to be equal to the evil of factionalism has put our democratic republic at grave risk.

Kevin McCarthy’s threat and 'the cult of the former, failed president'

The last time a president engaged in such abuses of office, during Richard Nixon’s tenure, the forces of factionalism were less potent and the devotion to our institutions was far stronger. That devotion was strong enough, in fact, to force Nixon from office. Even so, in the wake of Watergate, Congress passed a host of reforms to ensure that such abuses did not recur.

They served us well for almost half a century, but it is time for us to add to them.

The Protecting Our Democracy Act is the third pillar of our Congress' democracy agenda, along with the For the People Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Act. This latest legislative effort reflects the joint work product of several committees and dozens of members of Congress.

OPINION Democrats have a plan to help save democracy. Here's how it starts.

First, it would deter future abuses of presidential power by requiring that if a pardon is issued in a case involving the president or the president’s family, all investigative records must be provided to Congress. It would create a mechanism to enforce the emoluments clause of the Constitution, which prohibits federal officials from accepting gifts from foreign powers without authorization. And it would stiffen penalties for pressing the federal workforce into campaign service in violation of the Hatch Act.

Second, it would restore our system of checks and balances by ensuring that Congress can enforce its subpoenas in expedited fashion and that efforts to run out the clock on congressional oversight will fail. It would strengthen the powers and independence of the inspectors general so they could provide critical oversight and protect whistleblowers who come forward to report fraud or abuse. It would require a paper trail of contacts between the White House and the Department of Justice to expose any corrupt efforts to politicize the department. And it would prevent the executive from usurping Congress’ power of the purse and allocating taxpayer funds for purposes not authorized or approved by Congress.

New sections of the bill would require presidential candidates to disclose their tax returns and prevent harmful delays in presidential transitions. And finally, the bill would help to protect our elections from foreign interference by requiring that campaigns report foreign contacts and by prohibiting any campaign from accepting assistance from a foreign

While this bill is being offered by Democrats, we hold out the hope that some of our Republican colleagues will recognize that there should be nothing partisan about preserving the checks and balances that have kept our democracy strong for more than two centuries. And that we should guard against the repetition of any of the presidential abuses we have witnessed by a future Presidents

Donald Trump is no longer president, but the road map he left behind for any unscrupulous, aspiring autocrat is apparent to all. That is why it is up to us to act, to restore the guardrails he purposefully tore down and to put in place reforms so that our democracy is never again placed in such peril.

The recent indictment of Sussmann is proof positive that the whole "Russia collusion" nonsense was a Clinton campaign lie. One that an extremely partisan FBI used to harass the former President.

Internal emails released show that the overwhelming motivation by the FBI to continue their investigation was blind hatred of Donald Trump.

But Adam Schiff has a plan to stop that whole fake problem with Russia?

Not long into former President Donald Trump’s tenure in office, it became increasingly apparent that the greatest threat to our democracy came not from a Kremlin intent on subverting our elections but from within, from an executive willing to use his power maximally, without regard for other institutions or the norms of office long associated with the presidency.

Grand Jury Returns Indictments Charging 2 Afghan Evacuees with Crimes While at Fort McCoy & Wisconsin Residents with Gun & Drug Crimes

MADISON, WIS. - A federal grand jury in the Western District of Wisconsin, sitting in Madison, returned the following indictments today. You are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

In unrelated cases, two individuals have been charged with crimes while at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin. Bahrullah Noori, 20, is charged with attempting to engage in a sexual act with a minor using force against that person, and with three counts of engaging in a sexual act with a minor, with one count alleging the use of force. The indictment alleges that that the victims had not attained the age of 16 years and were at least four years younger than the defendant.

Mohammad Haroon Imaad, 32, is charged with assaulting his spouse by strangling and suffocating her. The indictment alleges that the assault occurred on September 7, 2021.

Meanwhile, speaking of shooting people...

A left-wing group funded by the Center for American Progress and George Soros's Open Society Foundations submitted a letter to the government that advocated for murdering Republicans.

Free Press, a well-funded liberal group that aims to "reshape media" in the United States, sent a letter to the Federal Communications Commission that included the question: "Are we going to have to shoot Republican[s] to reclaim our democracy?"

The Free Press letter, which called on the FCC to "investigate its own history of racism and examine how its policy choices and actions have harmed black people and other communities of color," was signed by just under 5,000 of the group's members, who were given the opportunity to provide comment along with their signature. The call to "shoot" Republicans came from a California member named David Lyons, who further complained that "racist horseshit like FOX and the other ultraconservative outlets and Christians" owned "most of our media."

Biden Security Adviser Jake Sullivan Tied to Alleged 2016 Clinton Scheme to Co-Opt CIA and FBI to Tar Trump

White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan figures prominently in a grand jury investigation run by Special Counsel John Durham into an alleged 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign scheme to use both the FBI and CIA to tar Donald Trump as a colluder with Russia, according to people familiar with the criminal probe, which they say has broadened into a conspiracy case.

Sullivan is facing scrutiny, sources say, over potentially false statements he made about his involvement in the effort. As a senior foreign policy adviser to Clinton, Sullivan spearheaded what was known inside her campaign as a “confidential project” to link Trump to the Kremlin through dubious email-server records provided to the agencies, said the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Last week, Michael A. Sussmann, a partner in Perkins Coie, a law firm representing the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee, was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of making false statements to the FBI about his clients and their motives behind planting the rumor, at the highest levels of the FBI, of a secret Trump-Russia server.

The grand jury indicated in its lengthy indictment that several people were involved in the alleged conspiracy to mislead the FBI and trigger an investigation of the Republican presidential candidate -- including Sullivan, who was described by his campaign position but not identified by name.

The Clinton campaign project, these sources say, also involved compiling a "digital dossier” on several Trump campaign officials – including Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, Paul Manafort, George Papadopoulos, and Carter Page. This effort exploited highly sensitive, nonpublic Internet data related to their personal email communications and web-browsing, known as Internet Protocol, or IP addresses. continues:

Exactly a year ago, Donald Trump told us exactly who he was and how far he would go

Brian Karem, Salon

September 23, 2021

At first, I couldn't believe what the president said.

My question was quite simple — and I anticipated a simple answer. I sought reassurance that whatever else, a peaceful transfer of power after an election — one of the cornerstones of the American experience that has made us unique, a fundamental example of why other nations look up to us — was not up for debate.

Since George Washington gave up the reins of power and retired to his farm, like an American Cincinnatus, the peaceful transfer of power from president to president has been an example the rest of the world respects and has emulated.

Whatever else happened during the four years that Donald Trump was president, I expected him and the GOP to uphold this American tradition. Hence, one year ago, on Sept. 23, 2020, I asked Donald Trump whether, come "win, lose or draw," he would accept a peaceful transfer of power. Until he came along, I would never have thought to ask a president such a question. I might as well have asked if they intended to continue breathing.

But Trump was different. The time was different. That briefing, in the Brady Briefing Room of the White House, came during the height of the coronavirus pandemic. The White House press corps had voluntarily reduced our numbers to just 14, in a room that routinely had hosted as many as 110 reporters during Trump's tenure in the White House. Trump, through his press secretary, had routinely skirted this mandate by inviting "guests" from favored news organizations to stand at the back of the room and ask questions. I routinely showed up to counter-program the Trump lackeys.

On the day in question last year, someone with an assigned seat didn't show up for the presidential briefing and rather than allowing a Trump acolyte to take the open seat — which was the last seat in the last row — I took it myself.

Mind you, I did not believe Trump would call on me. He and I had a past. I had sued him to keep my press pass. He'd called me "fake news" and "that Playboy guy," and had told me to sit down and shut up on several occasions. Once he threatened to walk out of a news conference in the Rose Garden if I didn't shut up. I didn't, and he didn't walk out. He took the question while complaining the whole time.

On Sept. 23, 2020, he surprised me again. Not only did he take my question, but he picked me first and I did not hesitate. The only issue on the minds of millions of Americans then was whether or not Trump would respect the results of the upcoming election. What Trump said to me and told the nation that day was the match that lit the fire leading to the "Big Lie," an insurrection, one dead rioter, dead and beaten Capitol Police officers, and a nation that is still divided, sore and angry. More importantly, Trump has never admitted that he lost the election and he threatens our democracy daily.

No one should be surprised.

Everyone should be outraged.

But some, including high-ranking members of the Republican Party, continue to defend Trump and millions of Americans still believe him — no matter what they saw on television, no matter what they were told in news reports and no matter what the reality is.

Kellyanne Conway described this phenomenon as "alternative facts" and that is where millions of Americans, courtesy of a consummate con man, dwell today — in the gray nether regions of a constructed fiction where Trump and his minions believe he won; where taking a de-worming drug designed by scientists for horses is preferable to taking a vaccine designed by scientists for humans!

Trump came closer than most of us know to staging a coup, even after he warned us about that last September. Recent news reports and a new book by Bob Woodward and Robert Costa highlight a six-point plan for Vice President Mike Pence to overturn the 2020 election

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Now we know what Trump meant when I asked him last year if he would "commit to a peaceful transferal of power after the election." This is what he said:

"We're going to have to see what happens. I've been complaining very strongly about the ballots and the ballots are a disaster. . . get rid of the ballots . . . and there won't be a transfer, frankly, they'll be a continuation. The ballots are out of control. You know it . . ."

"No I don't," I replied.

Trump's traitorous, convoluted and muddy thinking, his flash over substance, his obfuscation of facts and his total disregard for the truth and decency was horrifying then and has largely overwhelmed American politics now.

There are those so convinced that Trump got screwed in the 2020 election that they'll defend the treasonous actions of the insurrectionists on Jan. 6, while at the same time denying that Trump whipped them into a frenzy or that they were in a frenzy at all. With the same breath, there are those who will say the insurrection was a peaceful protest, an FBI, Black Lives Matter or antifa violent action, that it did not occur or was justified or — shudder — was even patriotic. The actions of that day were the actions of domestic terrorists. I was there. I witnessed it.

A do or die moment

The intra-party showdown is putting Biden’s reputation as a master negotiator to the test once more. Both wings of his party have issued competing ultimatums as the legislation has advanced in Congress. If neither side gives, Biden won’t get a chance to sign anything ― not the bill progressives want, nor the one moderates want. Democrats would be forced to confront next year’s midterm elections with sagging poll numbers and little to show for their efforts.

Both sides do agree that if anyone can bring the party to the finish line, it’s Biden. The long-time former senator united his party during the 2020 presidential election and made Donald Trump a one-term president. He followed up by signing into law the American Rescue Plan, which contained some of the biggest progressive pieces of legislation in a generation.

Still, Democrats are far more divided over their $3.5 trillion budget than they were earlier this year when they pushed through their coronavirus relief bill. That legislation had more urgency and Democrats had an easier job of selling it to the public. The Build Back Better bill touches far more federal policy and is a bigger target for Republicans and the armies of lobbyists in Washington seeking to defang or outright defeat it in Congress.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) urged Biden to “keep everybody on track” as he met with Democratic lawmakers on Wednesday.

“We’re all Democrats. We’re all trying to get to the same endpoint. We just need to make sure nobody gets caught in the switches here or left behind,” she said.

When [so-called quote-unquote "president"] Joe Biden announced that an authoritarian vaccine mandate would be imposed on roughly 100 million Americans by OSHA, the glee on the left was palpable. Today, the unintended consequences of Biden's attempt to distract from the botched withdrawal in Afghanistan are becoming apparent. According to Morning Consult, hardly a right-wing pollster, Biden's net approval among black voters have fallen 17 points since the mandate. The share of black voters who disapprove of Biden's job performance increased 7 points, to 24%, with 14% saying they strongly disapprove.

The mandate is a dubious public health move, given the number of recovered Americans. It could also prove to be a catastrophic political move. Democrats are already concerned about shifts in the Hispanic vote toward Republicans in 2020 and the recent California recall. While there might not be a similar shift in the black vote, all they have to do is stay home in 2022 to kneecap Democrats. Even Morning Consult notes that Democrats are suffering from an enthusiasm gap. . .

. . . When you consider the percentage of the black population that is not vaccinated, the breakdown from Morning Consult becomes an even bigger problem. Keep in mind, approximately 70% of black Americans are not fully vaccinated, and only 34% have taken an initial dose, according to the CDC.

There were also more significant declines among black voters in their view of Biden's handling of specific policy areas than the decline among all voters. He is five points underwater with black voters on his handling of immigration and barely making 50% on foreign policy and national security.

As Barack Obama reportedly said, "Never underestimate Joe's ability to fuck things up."
